All my carry guns are hunting guns......
Individual situations will dictate the individual criteria.

If you NEVER carry a deep concealment handgun or you NEVER pocket carry a handgun, then a J-frame sized snubnose is of little use.

A small 5 shot snubnose is seldom a first choice if holster carry of a larger handgun is practical. These are not decisions based on the gun, these are decisions based on the overall circumstances and environment.

I have one with adj sights in 38 spec and love it!!
Great trigger and very accurate for what it is.
Both my kids shoot it very well!
No doubt about that and the 2" checks all the boxes @Petrol & Powder mentioned a few posts back.

I can embrace ugly if it's ugly for a reason. The LCR/LCRX IS ugly and ugly for a reason.

The LCRX (3", adjustable sights) is bulky though - NOT a "pocket gun." It's plenty accurate, has great triggers and is plenty light and would be a dandy "trail gun," depending mostly on the size/attitude/ability to mess you up of local fauna.

I LIKE mine and would possibly buy another, except that their prices are now have surpassed that of another old brand I tend to be fond of, which does all the same stuff.

Never had one in 38. Did have one in 22LR - and the trigger was THE worst trigger I have ever ever had - on anything! Spanish Rolling Blocks have better triggers than the 22 did. Maybe it was a lemon, I don't know. But is was horrific. I traded it straight across for a Taurus (not a big fan, but) 856UL alloy 6 shot to be a snake shot kayak gun. 22 snake shot is also less than desirable, especially for Southern cottonmouths. Good to know that Wasalmonslayer has one in 38 with a good trigger.

I like mine Ben. Never used a holster, always in either a front or rear pocket of my carpenter jeans. Good gun for the money.
