That was the old "Super Police" load for the 38 S+W back in the day. Anecdotal evidence suggests it worked much better than the wussy 146gr factory RN. I have the same mould, but it's a little much for my Smith Perfected model. Always wanted one of those Webleys or a K frame Smith 38 S+W.
Yea I know, :p I have that mold too. 358430. And Shooting Times this month has a write up on Winchester "super Police 200g "copper washed "Lubaloy".

I haven't looked at Shooting Times in years and years. I think last time was just after Rick Jamison left! The picture I was referring to was the one with the 38 S+W and 430. The "Super Police" was available in both 38 S+W and Special. I had a couple boxes of both at one time.

That pic by Two Dot looks a lot like my NEI #169A mould form. At the old site, "OKSMLE" did a group mould buy on some samples I sent to him from one of Walt Melander's mould blocks that I have. 202 grains in pure lead, and even at the low speeds of the 38/200 it still CLANGS downrange iron right proper.

That #358430 does a similar job in 38 Special (700 FPS at standard pressures), and REALLY whacks stuff from the 357 Mag at 1200 FPS. (12.4 grains of WW-296, right from the W-W data). VERY accurate, cast that as a Bruce B Soft Point and go make venison.

Bret--I have both a Webley-Enfield DAO and a S&W M&P in 38/200. Groups at 25 yards from the S&W are decent, just under 3" if I pay attention to business in D/A mode. The W/E groups about half-again larger at same the distance.

Its unfortunate gun mags waver. But internet reading has killed them. I still get a few and I enjoy them.
I have been getting Shooting times since it was given to me in High School!! I have most every issue in binders. I reference them all the time! I worked at a printer for nearly 20years. We bought a couple full color copiers in the mid '90's. I was incharge of that dept and the rep said use the heck outta them you are the tryal company. We wanna see what they can do. Well I got the idea to make my own manual using caliber features from the ST mags!! You cannot believe the numbers that they did!! I have two two inch thick binders made from these pages starting in 1978 till say 1993. One is rifles and one pistols. Absolute wealth of information.

Here is the article:

One of my bigger regrets was getting rid of 15-20 years worth of ST and G+A back int he early 80's. Those were the days of Skeeter and Elmer, should have kept them as I never really advanced with the times.

I bought a Saeco 352 in the late 90's. Checks would not stay on. I called the factory and they asked me to send the mold with checks from 3 different lot numbers. 6 weeks later they returned it with several castings and the checks still on. I could see machining marks and it now holds checks.

Glad they fixed yours!

If I didn't powder coat Id be more worried. But could Likely do as Fiver suggests pretty easily.

Ill cast more soon and try my regular PC coatings and Ill know. ;)

I gave up on G & A when Keith passed. When Skeeter passed Shooting Times became a bit hard to read.
When Venturino left Shooting Times, I followed him to Guns, Handgunner. Now all he writes is retread drivel.Bet he spends all of 15min on each column.
Haven't looked at G&A or ST in 20years.
Everything is black handguns and AR's.
I want Jack O'Conner, Skeeter & Keith back. I also want "wind wings, Glass milk bottles and 5 cent Hershey bars.

I ain't getting any of it.

And watermelon WITH SEEDS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
