Snow-pocalypse is coming to South Central Wisconsin

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Personally I'm hoping for sustained cold and a late breakup. Got a late start on a log job and hoping to keep the truck road and skid trails frozen. The sun is getting stronger though, and at some point the thaw is inevitable.

Gonna be just like every other year- freeze an thaw, freeze and thaw. Got a foot of nice powder here with ice underneath. I'll be on the crawler in the woods today dragging in more dead Elm. Between the Dutch Elm Disease and the dry summer of '16 we have a lot of it.

My vote is to have hard water to drive on till April 30th.
Us Jackpine savages don't need no boot chains (I have 3 types)

YakTrak are OK, but Stabil-Icers use screw in cleats, much more aggressive. Yak-Traks use coils of wire around the rubber framework.

I do NOT recommend running on ice with Yak-Traks. Been there, done that. After about 20 feet, I realized that I did NOT have firm traction, so I quit running.

And yes, I have started sliding with both feet flat on ice, and ended up looking up at Jesus... Dress shoes with flat soles are not good on ice...
