Well just had a little (exploitive) me moment .
One of the kids school friends that spent months at the house in school and summers (cumulative not all at once) , was in a car accident and lost her husband an only daughter .......... I don't even have the words to talk to my daughter who sent me the information ....... The friend made it through with nonthreatening injuries .........

I'm not a big prayer and I don't know how that works for Wiccans but if your inclined it can't hurt .

Cast or jacketed loads?
Matt, I haven't had a bunch of time to work out a load for the Garand and it's not your typical M1 Garand anyway. So, I just loaded up some M2 ball duplicates (sort of). 155 grn. jacketed, in Twin Cities milsurp brass, pushed along by 43.8 grns of IMR 4895

Broke down 3 of the 8 10lb. chubs of 90/10 ground beef to use for dog food. Rest of the chubs will be cut up frozen into 1 lb. chunks with a sawzall W/stainless meat/bone blade. Also food-sucked ("Food Saver") about 8 Tritips from a bulk cryovac bag.

Stocking up for the next SARS-CoV-2/Delta/Delta+/Lambda panic.

Stocking up for the next SARS-CoV-2/Delta/Delta+/Lambda panic.

Got TP and hand sanitizer? Actually, next time it will probably be different stuff like plastic trash bags and light bulbs that become unobtainium overnight. SMH.

My adopted mantra, "one is none, two is one" saved me last weekend when I went to scorch meat for 12 people. Between three propane cylinders and two gas grills I had one of each that worked. One Amerigas cylinder had a bad plunger O-ring that leaked between the safety plunger and bore (no way to fix it), one new, unopened Blue Rhino bottle had leaked itself empty, and the primary burner on one grill was plugged up with probably a bee nest. So it looks like time to invest in a 500 gallon tank and have fuel delivered.....but then I have to worry about the driver's ability to operate my automatic gate without somehow managing to totally destroy it with his truck. Anyway, being prepared is great but you still hace to be flexible because half the stuff you count on will fail when you need it (freezers, electricity, vacuum bags, etc.)

chuckle... who knows what the next run will be.
it's something different every single time,,,, except primers, it's always primers.
I should probably be more of a dick, but I have gave away at least a sleeve of primers, and gave away or sold close to 40lbs. of powder in the last year and a half.

all I know is the run probably won't be on 9 dollar 2x4's.

I had hoped to move in early 2021 but the deal fell through. No worries, at least I didn't have to sort stuff! I've been here for roughly 25 years, and planned to keep the house at least for a while, but still. . . I'd miss my shop, my books, etc. I really need to find a 12-step program for bibliophiles.

And now it looks like I'll likely be moving next month. Crash course of sorting and getting rid of stuff. I've been separating out the books I'll be taking and getting the others listed for sale. I've already been thinning out the dies and moulds and guns.

When did I get so many dog books? Woodworking books? How can I move when a couple years ago I finally finished unpacking the boxes I packed when I went off to college? Do I really need 30+ Disston hand saws? HOW DOES THIS STUFF ACCUMULATE?

OTOH, it will be nice to get back to having a choice of 600 yard ranges.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Charcoal Ian, you can make it yourself and the food tastes a lot better.

Gordy is working the trash route at the county fair for a friend from church. One 19 year old that half mountain lion and 3 old guys my age trying to keep up with him. Problem is that due to The Plague Gord doesn't have his drivers license yet, so I'm picking him up- 3-4 hours past my normal bedtime. Holy smokes... I'm whipped at 8AM!!!

Never give up the 'lucky' fishing hat.... LOL

spent the day watching the summer squash grow, and a bunch of Abbott and Costello movies.
the G-boy come over for 'Donut day' he watched one of them for a few minutes remarking that Costello is one silly guy.

'Donut Day' is a little something I started where I show up to his place with some donuts and chocolate milk unannounced.
it was gonna be Thursday, but we went down to Pocatello, so he talked his mom into bringing donuts over here instead.
