Also Will make an attempt to hit the grocery store at 6 am ( Senior hour) tomorrow: Not looking forward to it but better that it is just the old folks that do not do a lot of socializing! Got to get some supplies if I can....Things are getting bad around here 500 to 600 cases per day!

I married my Julie on July 24th 1998. We have been through a lot. Raised two kids, saw them off, and now dealing a lot with her health issues. Graves, Rheumatoid arthritis, Thyroid eye disease, Hashimoto's disease, among other autoimmune disorders. It has been a bit rough over the last few years but we are holding strong. I couldn't imagine life without her. She is my life.

I can relate to that. I went through the graves disease thing about 25 years ago. I don't know the difference between Graves and Hashimoto's disease, aren't they basically the same thing? Immune system attacking the thyroid? Thyroid hormone is incredibly important regulating much of the bodies functions and the list of symptoms and effects on the body is rather lengthy. I was lucky and avoided the thyroid eye disease but there were plenty of other issues. Docs messed with trying different things/drugs for 8-10 months and finally just removed the thyroid.

Be careful out there Jim. We went through the house with a fine-tooth comb late last week with an eye toward no more shopping for a month. Made a final shopping trip yesterday while our county of 50K is still CV free.

There was some talk about fly gear some time back . This was my grandfather's I know it's old gear but it is absolutely pristine including the makers tag on the sock and the nickled copper capped aluminum tube . I know little to nothing about this rod but I suspect he bought it in Hawaii if I read that right it's a #10 rod but that doesn't seem right , it is stiff so maybe . If he bought it in Hawaii it was before 1949 and he was fishing the break water near Pearl . I don't remember him fly fishing but maybe once or twice when I was very small , 6-8 yr maybe .
Ms got a bee in her bonnet and wanted to go drown some worms since fishing is now open season no license for now .

I tried but apparently the leaders on flies need to be replaced every 30-40 years whether they get used or not .

I ended up fishing his old (looks like new complete with sock and tube ) Shakespeare Wonder Rod and one of the old Mitchell 300s strung with 20# about 25 yr ago ...... Probably all the better I didn't even get a hit .
I reperfected my cast/retrieve technique which is found under "no wait just one more cast there's still snags , slime , and sticks to get out of this lane " .
I apparently lack the fishing gene altogether . Though I did successfully plug , pop , spoon , spin , dive , jerk , and drown worms at the top , bottom and middle without disturbing a single bass , bluegill , breem , or catfish for over 4-1/2 hours .

On the bright side we got out of the house , had no peopley contact , and I didn't have to clean any fish .

Still puttin up with my 1st. Will be 46 years in August. Last 4 years have been rough, after she lost her dad, then brother, then her mom within a year she went into the tailspin of depression. Been on several meds and slowly getting better, but nowhere near the woman I raised 3 kids with. Hopefully one of these days the light will come back on.

Pretty much. Graves makes the thyroid hyper, Hashimoto's makes the thyroid hypo. When you no longer have a thyroid, they both attack you and just cause a lot of problems making it harder to regulate the thyroid with medication.

My wife and I will celebrate 48 years in May.
Been a lot of ups and downs, but the last 10 years have been great.

Our 46th this August too. Sorry to her she has had such a hard time. A good spouse is such a blessing every day. Mine has turned her sewing talents to making masks for doctors and nurses and she is part of a group now and they have orders for a few hundred more. I offered to drive and make pickups and deliveries freeing up the seamstresses to do what I cannot. Someone donated a box of N95 masks to the coordinator of the group and made a 120 mile round trip delivering those. That would have wasted valuable sewing time.

I decided to standarize all of my lead. Melt all of the similar alloy for consistency. I got 400 lbs from my spare scrap pile moved to where i melt. There is still about 600 more lbs to move.
Just my luck. My winter inactivity got the better of my back. An i am sitting here with a heating pad on the small of my back. And not able to move much.

We had burgers and potato salad.
We haven’t eaten at home this much in decades.

Kinda weird but I really don’t miss going out very much. I have plenty to do at home and may finally get ahead on ammo and casting.

While fresh, quality produce is still flush at the stores, we're anticipating it going away or being too risky to buy in a few weeks, so we've been living it up a little more than usual. Anything fresh we buy now extends our long-term reserve stash of kibble that many more weeks. Surviving on dry goods and preserved food exclusively for many months is still surviving....but that's about all.

Didn't participate in the Great Ammunition Loading Challenge, because my stash is already deep enough. I would've loaded a couple hundred .223, but didn't place a brass order with Mr. Bartlett too soon enough. Anyway, I don't own a black rifle . . .

However, I did cast and lube just shy of 600 358-158 RNFNs, and 200 452374s.

Oops, I lied: I loaded some Argentine/287641/2400 test rounds, but that was Friday so it doesn't count.

RB - BEAUTIFUL Antique Heddon rod! Here is what I found from a classic fly rod forum... Googled "Heddon #10 9' 2 1/F HCH or D", below {my notes in brackets}

quote - "HCH or D". That is the line weight. HCH is a 7-weight and HDH is a 6-weight. {makes it a 6 or 7 wt line rod; hvy trout/bream, wheelhouse for bass or lite salt; But, old line rating, so I would bet/guess that it would fish best with a modern 6 wt line}

This rod was made during Heddon's Neo-Classic Era (1939-1948). The Model #10 was a lower grade rod in the Heddon lineup, but still a quality fly rod. The 2 and 1/2 ferrule size is a Bass-Heavy Trout Action or Class rod. {see Bass/Hvy trout rating; also understand, a lower grade bamboo then is like handmade now! Kinda like an old Colt or Smith! they just don't make them like that anymore} endquote

It will be (most likely) a very slow action rod (which is much easier to learn on, imo. Varnish looks as new/pristine! It is a beautiful set! jealous! If you decide to play with it, let me know. Have a cpl things that might help and happy to help you.

was rearranging/reorganizing/putting up some more brass I bought cpl months back and tumbled and bagged. I am DEF prepped brass wise for this mess... Brass is stacked 5' wide/2'deep and 18" high! oh, yeah, and there is at least one caliber in there I have never had - yet! and 2-3 I don't have right now...

ouchie..

I don't think I actually done anything much today.
started to do some stuff, then called my Mom [her birthday] and spent an hour and a half talking to her then more time to Dad.
[looks like my Idiot B.I.L. couldn't find the state of Arizona because his GPS quit working,,,, yeah,, siiigh, he spent two days working his way back over to where he was going from Los Angeles,
to make up for it he is doing a log re-set, then is supposed to Take a load of Booze to New York City]
went out to the green house and had to move one of the plants I have started for the garden since the cold got to it some last night.
then decided to pull the rest of the onions that ain't going to seed.
I ended up taking those over to Littlegirls place and we made a potato-bacon-onion-asparagus- soup with them, and BBQing some chicken even though the wind was blowing like 10 mph.
it was maybe 34-35 to begin with so not too bad but that wind would get you if caught full force in it.

took the dogs down by the gun range just before dark.
there was 3-4 guys down there on the rifle side, so I just cruised over to the pistol side to see how things looked.
guess I will go pick up some pistol brass tomorrow [like I need more 9mm cases] and maybe empty out a few revolver cases while I'm down there if it don't snow again.
