When I was a kid, my Mom would poach eggs. I was never a fan. Yesterday, I made some Chicken stock from a bunch of split chicken breast bones. I thought to myself, why not poach some Duck eggs in chicken stock?
So, this morning for breakfast, I poached 3 duck eggs in the boiling stock. After they were cooked, but still runny yolks, I put them on a bed of fried onions and a bit of shredded chicken meat heated up with the frying onions, then splashed a small amount of stock on them. Oh my, was that tasty.

Well we got plane tickets to the lower 48 today. Haven't seen the kids and grands since Christmas before last.
Got our second shot last week so when the Brown Shirts ask for our papers we will be in compliance. Rant off.

We will fly into Seattle and be picked up by our oldest son who lives about 15 minutes away in Renton. Pick up our old motorhome out of storage with high hopes that the over a year in storage hasn't created any problems.
We will hangout in Renton with Tommy and family for a week and then head south to Ashland Oregon to visit with our middle son and family. Grands are 7,8, and 10.
Will are going to put the motorhome up for sale and look into a small travel trailer.

But for the rest of the day I'm going to be doing snow removal. Fun.

Either the re-located mountain lion has returned or another one has shown up, though a bit further away. Last Summer's fires likely caused a major shift, or drastic reduction, in their food sources.

Went to my local gun shop to do some primer trading today. Traded some CCI large rifle for Remington large rifle to see if they work better in my TC Compass 308. Been getting some fail to fires with my cast bullet loads and thought I’d try a softer primer.

He has had little to zero ammo on the shelf the past 6 months, today he had some reloading supplies that some guy brought in that he had no use for . Picked up two boxes of Sierra .243 60 gr hollow points for $20 per box of 100. Great score I thought! My son has been wanting to play with some light bullets in his .243 for woodchucks this summer but the lightest I had was 75gr. He’ll be happy! They looked like really old boxes, maybe 40 year old vintage. I’m expecting they will shoot well as I have never shot a Sierra bullet that didn’t.

Day two of the vehicle shopping saga.
Well went and looked at an 08 CRV with 125k miles today. Wife can get in and out of it ok by herself so ++. Nice shape a little sheet metal rust on the rear. Nothing a sandblaster some converter and a touch up can could not take care of. We'll mechanically maintained.
Fellow wanted 5000$, would not go down, I was 450 short his asking price.
So gave him my # and we are back to looking.

I absolutely hate shopping for and buying vehicles. I love buying guns and everything that goes with them and love buying woodworking tools, lumber and building supplies. But man I hate buying vehicles...

I generally do not hate shopping for vehicles or the wheel and deal.
We are getting one to make the wife happy this time, since she has no clue about mechanics, cost and so forth. She just goes on look and feel.
I am totally of the utilitarian mindset. Kinda makes it a bit more unpleasant for me. Especially when I am trying to deal with a fellow on price and she is standing there, looking at the car all puppie eyed.

Too bad she didn’t like the Suburban... We’ve had two of them and loved them both. My wife’s edd (everyday drive. :) ) She’s only about 5’3”.

Just found an 02 CRV 160k. $2200.
Scale calibration technician who checks and sets our scales. Has it for sale.

He can not get it plated in his county. Says runs good, everything works, just can not it get to pass emissions. Throwing a p1077 code. Emissions testing garage said they could fix it for $900, and they had just previously soaked him for a new converter, last year, so he just bought a new CRV and parked it.
Emissions do not matter to me,if they do not effect function. No certification in my county.
Who knows it might just be a corroded wire connection or something.
Going to do some Googling and if the code does not have costly possibilities will try and get a look see tomorrow..

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Mitty, running boards aren't that hard to install on a 'Burb, just sayin'. FWIW, if you see a Ford Escape offered, take a good look. Mine was a great vehicle. If I ever get the 3 out of 4 wheel bearings it need fixed it will be a great vehicle again. But I can't put $600 a wheel into a $500 car. HF is supposed to have a kit that will allow me to get the old bearings out myself. We'll see...

Problem is my wife's mobility, the Suburban we looked at, had running boards.
She still had problems getting up into it. She can do it but it is just difficult.
Running boards, steps and hills are usually difficult and painful for her.
Sometimes they are not, but it is on a try and see basis.
This is our main purpose this time around, to get a vehicle that she can get in without assistance, and be comfortable riding in.
Lack of full range motion in her knees, and it is not repairable, she had polio as a child, More muscular and nerve issue then joint wear,so anything that can be done has been.
So we will just keep trying till we get it right. No stress, No hurry the 250 is reliable, and I can still lift her up into it.
Sooner or later we will find the one that is just right.;)

I hope you find something she loves. It’s too bad Tesla’s weren’t priced more reasonably because I’d bet she would absolutely love driving one. I know, it’s electric and is as different as different gets but driving one is pure pleasure. I’ve driven a 2wd and a 4wd model and couldn’t spin the tires on either one of them, and tried. But they both put you back in the seat when you step on it whether starting from zero or at highway speed and need to pass something.

picked up a box of CCI standard velocity target 22's today at almost 4 bucks a box of 50.
I figure either the old K-22 or the Dan will like them, otherwise I woulda just walked off.
I did see some 223 [?price] and 9mm [16.99] with a smattering of this and that [like a box of Remington brand 44 mag. at like 50$] on the shelf.

6 random boxes of bullets, some plastic trainers, and 3 total pounds of [stupid high priced rifle] powder was pretty much their entire reloading shelf.

Thats nuts as that chrysler was sair to be a 12 sec car!!
