The body shop finally finished the truck. What with waiting for a new windshield and back seat side glass to become available, and the entire paint crew coming down with the Chinese flu, it was a six week wait.
After 26 years the clear coat had flaked off the hood and top, and there was rust round the windshield, back glass, gutters and cab-mounted brake light. Looks and smells like a new truck.
Tomorrow I'll re-mount the tool box and organize all the stuff that goes in it.
Oh, and I have an inside rear view mirror again. Going back a very long time, the mirror kept falling off the windshield. I tried super glue and "mirror" glue, but neither one held for any length of time. About 10 years ago, I lost the little button that attaches to the windshield and the mirror slides onto, so the mirror became a backseat occupant. Of course, that big blind spot is back -- just a bit bigger than that motorcycle that's stopped across the intersection.
