do they still put holes in the end of needles?
I been sitting here trying to push a piece of thread through two of them for over 30 minutes now.
2 different glasses, different colored threads, took it out in the sunlight.
F-it I'll live with the ripped pocket.
I have been told the problem isn't with the needles, nor your eyes, it is the fact that your arms are too short to bring it all into focus.
:headbang:

Been there brother, not laughing at you but with you.

I keep a good Bausch & Lomb head loupe handy for reading labels to extracting ticks. And threading needles if the need arises.

Just did a 2 hr casting session. Picked out 23 perfect .224's. Threw the rest back in the pot, going to cast later tonight. Going to keep this up till I get 20 lb of good bullets. I really need to get a good hot plate.I have one, but no temp control.
Someone lost my Lee pot thermometer, out at the club, when I was melting berm scrap over a wood fire.
Ordered a Lyman digital thermometer, but it has been a couple months and still back ordered. So we are going by feel. And controlling mould temp totally by the timing.

They do make metal threaders, for us fishermen trying to tie on a #24 fly. Plus flip down magnifiers. I can see the 'eye' but not the 2# tippit.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
More rock drilling today. I'm learning that there is rock and then there is ROCK and then there is ROCK!!! I drill one hole that takes maybe 4 or 5 minutes to get 8" or so of depth. Move over 8 feet and spend 20 minutes getting the same depth. Move over another 8 feet and I drill through the first layer of rock in a minute or so then through what might as well be sand in 10 seconds, then into the next layer that takes 10 minutes to gain 3" and then it breaks back into the sandlike rock. Move 8 feet and I can't use the auger because of the rock and the diging bar says it's solid but I drill 2 feet deep in 45 seconds! Another 8 feet and I spend over half an hour getting almost, but not quite, 8" (where the plate is riveted on). That last one about killed me and had the drill's gear box too hot to touch! That one was ROCK!!! I got maybe 100 feet done and the last 6 posts were augered in. The holes go faster but tamping clay with 18 lbs of steel does a job on your shoulders. Can't do much more till I get the skid steer and dozer involved moving rock piles.

I think I need to un-retire and get a full time job so I can get some rest...

So I go for a drive to donate/recycle all the garage sale leftovers...and on my way home, what do I do? Yep I stop at a few garage sales, LOL.
.
.
BUT...
I scored this 9" Griswold skillet for $15. I wasn't even sure if this skillet was a Griswold when I bought it, but I hoped it was, as there was a faint ring showing through the carbon, where the logo should be. When I got it home and cleaned off that area, I sure was happy.

This one has the small block logo, which is the most recent production (1939-1957) and known to have shallow markings and easily filled in with carbon. The cooking surface looks fantastic, so I guess I will be retiring my older and more valuable 9" skillet, which gets used everyday.
Have I ever said I like cast iron??? It's true, and of the cast Iron, Griswold is my favorite for cooking.

Working on my shed some more today. Have one more wall frame to build, just went and got 6 more 2 x 4 x 6's was To the bottom of the barrel on the free twisted, age hardened, old lumber I had . Just did not have enough good ones to build the front wall without having issues.
Going to try and get the front wall done by 1:00 tomorrow as I am going in for my second covid shot. I got a little sick with the first. I hear the 2nd can be a dusy.

then swung by the tractor/ranch store to see what they had, and they had an assortment of bell peppers for 1.79 a planter pack.

Got home last night from a 4 day trip away from home to a friend's house for a serious white bass fishing session. We had good fishing Tues. and Thurs. and kept 120. They are all processed. Some filleted and frozen, some smoked, some smoked and canned.

We picked up Mr. Twister corded electric filet knives for this adventure and at less than 30 bucks each they were well worth it. We were diligent about bleeding and icing the fish and about trimming the fatty red mud line off the filets. Should be excellent table fare. They sure were fun to catch. Conditions had gotten better during the week finally over coming the abnormally cool weather and water temps. We got 75 in 45 minutes on Thurs. and that was a blast.

Any eyeglass wearers having trouble getting new glasses? Mine were scratched up when I had my wife clean them while on a trip last fall. I put up with it till recently and finally went to the dr for a new rx. They told me 10 days to 2 weeks which was about double what it's been in the past. All the local offices have been bought up by a corporate outfit in recent years including this one. The corporate shop does all the grinding, everything goes through them. At the two week mark with no glasses I called the local office, they said next week for sure. Next week comes around and still no glasses. Yesterday was 6 weeks and they had no idea where the glasses were in the process. I cancelled and called the credit card company to contest the charge. The lady at the credit card company said it sounds like they are a pretty sketchy outfit.
Now to find another dr and get some glasses.

Nice looking assortment, what do they weigh?
My 38-55 is a JES rebored Marlin 336 with a Skinner Peep and fiber optic front sight, just use it for woods range deer hunting and backyard gongs. I started out with the Lee mold and shifted to a NOE 38-250B which is very similar, but has three fairly equal band widths instead of the narrow center band and has a bigger meplat. I don't even know if those heavier bullets would stabilize in mine, just used the 250s so far. Still haven't caught one in a deer, guess no real need for longer bullets for my uses.

If you have a copy of the prescription you don’t need another appointment. You can take that to an outfit like Costco, or an online eye glass company and get it filled.

The organization I work for will provide us with prescription Saftey Glasses, but we have to bring them the prescription from an our optometrist. So l always get a paper copy of my prescription.

Legally they have to provide the rx, but this bunch makes you fight for it. The dr had changed to full goth mode in the couple years since my last visit, so I don't really trust she got it right anyway.

I gave up on optometrists long ago. They are nothing but eye glass salesmen as far as I'm concerned. An ophthalmologist only for anything to do with my eyeballs. The difference is a real doctor or someone that only wants to get rich selling glasses.

I have been to both and have never had a bad prescription/experience.

Now, my Dad agrees with you completely. He had developed cataracts and the optometrist he was going to didn’t identify the problem, he couldn’t get a pair of glasses that worked. It wasn’t until he went to a ophthalmologist that he got a proper diagnosis.
