My second shot is in a couple of weeks, only a really sore arm from the first. Never found anything I'm allergic to until the doc switched one of my once weekly insulin prescriptions. Take this on Saturday morning so filled the script and on Saturday I took it, within a few hours I was deathly sick, swapping ends in the commode for 5 days and was certain a truck had run over me. I guess I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree because the following Saturday I thought maybe it wasn't the injection, maybe coincidence that I came down with something at the same time so I took it again. Down for the count for 5 more days. Now looking forward to the second china flu shot. Well, maybe not so much.

That's terrible. Hope you can get thru this ok.
As a fellow who has been switched from med to med I have had experiences, but not to that extreme.
Praying for you to get everything adjusted right , with meds that work for you.

Kind of scary Rick. Didn't know there were such differences in insulin formulas.

I'm taking three different ones. Was on Trulicity for a few years and it was working well. Our new insurance wouldn't pay for Trulicity, it was costing me $50 for three months and they wouldn't pay it, started costing me $90 a month. Doc switched from Trulicity to Ozempic which is what made me so sick. Insurance has since rescinded and now pays for Trulicity but now $60 for three months.

Rick, remember when we had the prescription credit card? You went in to the pharmacy, picked up your prescription, they ran your card through the credit card machine, you signed and that was that. No co-pay, no name brand or generic. DONE!

Yeah, the good old days ain't today. New script insurance really sucks made even worse by no CVS pharmacies near here. 5 months ago I signed up for their mail order scripts, still waiting. I can assure you the health & pension fund did not make the switch for our benefit.

Ya know how people say "Minnesota Nice"? We Wisconsin folks are pretty darned decent too. Our pension system is managed by the State. Teachers, protectives, State Employees all lumped together. Well managed, fully funded, and usually making money. I had my money in half fixed and half variable until shortly after I retired. My variable half was tens of thousands bigger than the fixed. I moved it all to fixed as soon as I was able to after retirement. There is an annual opportunity only and watching the stock market climb and climb had me chewing my nails to the quick. I harvested all of those gains, which bumped my monthly base check, which we can never go below.

Anyway, our pension system is the envy of other States. Every so often we have to bitch slap a governor who eyes those billions of dollars as a budgetary windfall. But since the constituents are on both sides of the isle we have serious clout.

Part of my wife's phone company early retirement buyout was lifetime, no premium medical coverage for both of us. The system worked perfectly till Obama was anointed. In 2015 millions of retired workers, whose medical care had previously been covered by the ex-employers, had to start paying their medical insurance premiums, then get reimbursed by the ex-employers. Problem is, the plan we selected has premiums that are greater than the amount of reimbursement, and we have to pay the excess out of pocket. Obama annulled and voided a legal and binding contract.

Argh... lets not get started... Ooh the damage.

last teo days have been therapy and doctors and above normal pain. So yesterday I has a cortisone shot to hopefully elevate some pain. But as anyone having said shot knows sometimes it has its own set if circumstances to "work threw". Well Im in the midst of that. He took a new angle and had to go thru extra "meat". So deeper puncture. (More pain)
Yesterday aftnoon was regular deep ache plus therapy aggravations and injection reactions. That stuff is thick and my knee felt like a over inflated football. No sleep last night. Its a little better this am. Hoping for some quality time in the recliner before momma gets home.

Hope your feeling better, CW take it easy buddy.

Fun day, myself.
I caught something or it was the frozen low carb meatballs I ate for lunch, one or the other.
Playing two instruments today, the bucket and the toilet.
Life is not good right now.

I feel for ya CW.

Today, I only accomplished one thing...that was to find new storage locations for the 450 lbs of alloy I had in my pickup. It's trying to rain/storm. I hear thunder and I seen 16 extra large raindrops hit the back steps of the house. we're in a dry spell, the grass is brown and my garden is dry and my cistern is almost empty, so I'm hoping this actually happens.

There is a local Gunshow this weekend, I turned down helping a friend with a table...gonna be too hot to spend all of two days in a Armory Gym with several hundred people and no AC...but I'll be going saturday morning, as a customer for a couple hours.

That's what we have.

Motion Picture Industry under normal circumstances is feast or famine. I specialized in design, fabrication and servicing of film handling machinery. It was damned hard to get my 30 years in. Because of the transition from film to digital video, there was a lot of famine during my last 10 years.
Can't have too much in the way of sour grapes though, as I was to some degree putting myself out of business while I was designing machinery that would transfer an image from film to digital storage.

Besides all the boreing ...back breaking work around the yard & house......Got a chance to shoot again this morning & I 'm pretty happy about it!
I shot for 5 straight mornings last week and really got my confidence up and technique down ....Was hoping I didn't loose it again ...but I was surprised.... Off hand ( 2 hand hold) at 10 yards with my model 19 S&W & wadcutters I got two targets that made me happy.
The one on the left has the details and was 25 shots ...the one on the right was the same load but for 36 shots ( still not sure why I get those weird flyers).....One new thing I did is only partially resize my brass to the depth of the seated bullets!

I'd guess trigger control maybe?
but then again all my groups look like your fliers and my fliers are in where your groups are, so what do I know?

got the transducer mount modified to take my transducer,,
it's sitting a bit low, but good enough for now until I can go test it out and see if I jacked up the transducer too.
if things work I might just leave it as is, if it's some weird or whatever I may just buy another unit.
for as much as I use it [shrug] anything that mostly works is good enough, all I really do with it is contour the bottom anyway.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Yup, trigger control and sight alignment. Does me in every time.

Butt busting day yesterday. Was moving round bales and the tie rod ball joint gave way. Why anyone in an agricultural industry would design a tractor without greaseable ball joints is beyond me. Repair entailed securing the tie rod off the parts tractor, disassembling a mess of parts that had been together since 1968 and then taking the whole thing apart 3 times after we discovered one tubes threading was stripped. We also discovered that, unlike any other tie rod I've ever seen, both ends were standard right hand thread! Oh and the steering arm on one side was bent about 3" out of shape. No wonder she looked cockeyed! A little welding, a lot of heat and swearing and some blood and we got it working about 8:30PM.

More lambs and kids have arrived. Busy place...

Man I can't figure why a sealed rod end would only last 50 yr ......I think you got ripped off and need to have a sit down with the CEO and responsible engineers .:rofl:

JW, I'd call that pretty decent shooting. Somewhere, I have a home movie my father shot, of me following a soda pop can down a dirt road, plinking it with the 1911. I was at least matching your shooting. At 60-something, with some pretty annoying hand tremors, I know I couldn't do what I did then and almost certainly can't match your marksmanship.

Nice shootin' JW.
