Some old Photos for your enjoyment

I've always had a thing for the "Gibson Girl" photos and paintings. Idealized and very posed I know, but I always found them very feminine and attractive. Some of the other stuff from that era, or worse, the "Flappers" of the '20's just put me off my feed! There was a period between the Gibson Girl era and the WW2 ear that just took all the female out of the ladies IMO. Of course these days seems half the ladies are dudes, so...I guess it's no better.

Now this is a mess ( from shorpy.com):
1923. Assistant Postmaster General John Bartlett's car in Washington after an accident. Bartlett, a former governor of New Hampshire, survived. Details of the wreck, unfortunately, did not. National Photo Co. Collection.

As badly as those vehicles have been bashed there was no fire !
Did you also notice the bulk of those men appear as though they could walk a good ways and survive the ordeal.

However he came to be in the accident, the marks on the ground and the sidewalk show it went in the direction the wheels indicate. But the honkin' big rope make me think this is well after the accident and that it got pulled there out of the road. Pretty common to get the wreck out of the road to allow traffic to pass.

I had one of those pens. I was soooooooo cool! Of course, I had to take it apart. I didn't have that pen after that... ;)

My Grandfather used to work for a company "Wyandotte Toys" they made some of those guns, still have a few. These are from the early 1950's. The Buck Rogers looking thing is a squirt gun.
