Doesn't matter if you make 150k in a year if it took 151k to do it. Thats the trick...keeping some.

I have a friend who makes a lot of money, and am pretty sure he told me he made over 75K in '18...I think that's the year they are gonna use to give you a check or not. Anyway, he made less in '19. He has already made plans to the money. Also, he is hoping to get cash for this check from the Bank. I told him, Glencoe has about 5000 people. Many of those 5000 people will probably want to do the same, get cash from the bank for their check. I asked him, do you think the bank will have enough $100 bills? ... NO WAY, I said.

Back to the OP:
Me? I'll just put the check into my bank account and use it for regular household bills. Since I am basically living off of savings, the $1200 will cover a couple months worth of Bills that I won't have to use savings for.

All I have to add is it will be a boon for the drug cartels. Don't forget the $500 per child also. There are more than a few baby factories up here living off the system.
I hear you Lamar. I was casting today and listening to the radio. Think I ate about half of what I cast listening to the "roll out" of the program. Oink Oink !

Puzzle me this: If the Govt. plans to forgive student loan debt, can't they also forgive the national debt?
As far as the "welfare check" to be received, is it based on Gross Income or the AGI? Doesn't really matter, I don't think I'll be gettin' any.

I was hoping they would have given a bit less then waited a bit to see what happen. Concentrated on getting medical supplies, rather than so much cash, out there. I really do not need a check right now . I am more worried about the affects on inflation, and trying to survive when I am older and have no retirement to supplement SSA (retirement fund was lost years ago).
But seeing as they did what they did, and it became more then what it was originally intended.
I guess I will take 30 percent off the top to put back just in case it is not tax free.
Then let my wife and kid spend their share. Put mine toward fixing up the house a bit.

If the send us any money I ought to use it to buy a %#!+ ton of mechanics tools I need for work, a couple more scary black rifles, and some more NFA toys all just to piss off the liberals good and proper.

There. I finally foud something to say.

ETA in truth it will go to replace the money had to pull out of savings for the unexpectedly high property tax bill this January. I've been hoarding money to get me through the job transition a couple months ago and fortunately that has turned more gainful and much sooner than expected, so I have been able to sock enough away to cover our minimums for quite a while during my upcoming time off work for surgery/recovery and coincidental expected income loss from lack of jobs due to CV. Any gov funny money will just be a bonus at this point.

Come to think of it, since my wife and kid took ownership of all my .22's I may just have to throw two and a half bucks at an Henry AR7.

Here is my situation. I don't have a real job. I hustle small mechanical and electrical work. During the summer I take people fishing and I don't charge but I accept tips. Cash only. I did not know this till the old lady told me she claimed me this year on her taxes. So that is how I am not qualified. We are not married so no extra there either.

My last job I was making $65K+ being a millwright. Plus I still had the side jobs. I fell into bad health from stress and diabetes. Last year I was starting to get better in my health. So I went out and got a part time job @ Autozone. Worked for 3 months and my body could not take it. So I had to quit.

So I was actually hoping to get this check. I really did not want to air all that but whatever. I don't get welfare or SS.Tried SS. No lawyer would take my case. Told me I was the last person in the world that SS would approve. A single white male with an education that does not drink or do drugs.

Tomme I totally understand.
I been disqualified for food stamps twice because I been through every company in town looking for work.
you can only apply to the mine so many times, and the fast food joint just looks at you like there is a hidden camera somewhere when they look at my resume and see what I made on my last couple of jobs.

Found an answer about the "welfare check" as it relates to Income. Apparently the mitigating factor is indeed the AGI.
" Income is determined by a person’s adjusted gross income, or AGI ". From a article today. Alessandra Malito,MarketWatch

Been thinking about this, and barring any unseen circumstances, I've decided on a blue 4 5/8" Ruger Blackhawk in either .45 Colt, or much more preferably .44 Special.
Back about '95 I had one in .45 Colt but sold it to subsidize the .45 ACP Randall, and a replacement has been gnawing at me since.
I have two S&W Lew Horton .44 Specials, a 3" Model 24 and a 6 1/2" Model 624. However, their low production numbers and pricing increases have kept them quarantined for going on two years. More importantly, though, a single-action serenades my soul in a way that a double-action never will.
