Standing tall bullets for PC

Trial run..........,
Here's what worked for me. Full length sized the brass, then crimp the mouths in the seating die, just enough to hold the bullets snugly. These are 45Acp brass holding 45-70 bullets.
Cases screwed to a 1/8'' alum. plate.

Snug fit.

Coated with spray gun. Didn't like the finish from plastic BB's.
Don't remember why I used alum. foil under the 45 cases.

powder coat3.jpg

Gas check shank stays clean.

For 30 cal. bullets I pop riveted 308 cases to a 1/8'' alum. plate (1/2'' rivets) Drilled the flash holes 1/8''. Again the case mouths were crimped just enough to hold the bullets (gas check shank) snugly.
The bullets do tend to stick a little. Sometimes a lot.
This worked well for me. Hope someone finds this useful.

STANDING 223 BOOLITS FOR BAKING

BTaT- Trivets https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08MZ7B8D8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Hollow Punch Set, 6 Pc. https://www.harborfreight.com/6-piece-hollow-punch-set-67030.html

[ I also use these for cutting/punching lubed wads for BP loading]

L18W69T.jpg

UHMW plastic (cutting board) cut a small piece 1/2x1/2x3 inch, mark one trivet cavity with felt marker then lightly press the UHMW on it giving you a outline then saw/cut a 1/8 inch post around the mark.

Center the post under the punch on your drill-press and set the stop so you don’t go too deep into the post.

I chose a slow speed then drilled/punched out all the holes.

Coat your boolits as usual and sift off all excess PC.

Set the trivet on nonstick sheet , and fill the holes with 223 boolits

There was a guy that posted something like this over on the other forum about a month ago. He used the silcone ice trays and a piece of brass to make his holes. Another variation I reckon.

The icecube tray would be easier to do seeing you wouldn't have to make "posts" to punch/drill the holes, you just need a flat surface of wood or plastic to drill/punch into.

My mind wasn't tracking that way when I came up with this

If you can find yourself a perforated plate That would allow you to set the bullets in nose first the bad marks would be on the ogive...If you are lucky like me the metal perf area doesn't touch my rifling nor my chamber!

When you get older you tend to shake more! I have used plastic bullet trays in the past to set my bullets on the silicon sheet Like nice little soldiers ! however recently I can't lift the darn plastic holders off the 50 bullets with out tipping over the whole mess! because I shake at the last moment!
My thought was nose first in screen,I'll try it an see next ones I do...just have check the hardware stores for size..one can always open it a little with a screw driver..

a punch works good.
i made a little folded down on the edges screen about 3/4" high with 1/8" hardware cloth.
then i poked and worked the punch in the holes to open them up big enough for the nose to go in.

probably get a blister on your palm.

Might work. Sounds a bit lite though. I suppose it depends on how many bullets you going to do. I found a pie tin works great. Just a lot of holes to drill. Lol

yeah i think i set it up for about a hundred bullets.
i could just throw a few down sideways and get more in there, buuut that ain't my style.
