I finally got to the range today with my T/C Contender , 9mm Luger.
I loaded the Lee 105 gr, SWC with 2.5 grs. of Bullseye with a Wolf Small Pistol Primer.
10 rounds @ 25 yards off of a rest.

Just to be clear, the group that you see below was not fired with metallic sights. I had a 2 X scope on my barrel today.

Hah! Well done, Ben. One hole at 25 yds, right out of the chute. :D

Now, for that one hole group at 50 yds...... "No pressure"

.....he said, applying some friendly pressure.:p

I'll bet that rig can do it, or darned close to it. Awesome bbl, great loading and that takes a
REALLY steady hand to shoot that well, even if all the other stuff is there.

Well done!
Now ....can Trevor do it? ------------------- (not sure I could :embarrassed:, even with your gear)

When I left the range today, I thought ......" Next time, I will go on out to 50 yards and see what this puppy can do ? "

I have some stringing.
But........at this very early point, I'm still pleased.
More work to come......

Always wanted a 10" 9mm. But, carbine length 41 mag and 357 mag will come first. I regularly shoot a 10" 41 mag with 185 and 230 cast and love it.

This particular load that you see used to shoot the test target feels like a 32 S&W Long. Very pleasant.

In a good barrel or pistol, the 9mm can be very accurate. We shot MANY 1" to 1-1/4" groups at 50 yards with our Colt SMGs using factory 147 grain JHPs. They were minute-of-streetlight to 85 yards with suppressed examples, too.

Aha, the 'universal street light switch'. Makes sense that it would be necessary at times. I suspect that the city
maintenance types were not too thrilled.

County Road Department was reluctant to pay overtime to maintainers that shut off the power to lights. Replacing the elements cost a lot more. They sent us the bills, we told them nicely to.......fuggetaboutit. Riverside County still strives mightily to keep itself a Cow County, but they did start sending out Road Dept. folks with a day's notice toward the end of my career. This is a rant sequence I could spend several days on, but that is enough for now.

While that looks like a dandy shooter, Ben, you can't put the cat back in the bag. Trevor already knows about the ruger;)

Ha, you're right.
He loves to pull the trigger on the Ruger carbine.
He likes to make empty 9mm brass.

Making empty brass is far more fun than making full brass

I guess refilling 9mm is painfully boring with a blue press. At least my Lee progressives keep me entertained during use. :D

Monotonous. Place a case, place a bullet, pull the handle. The press just works.

Maybe I will break a part or two and make it more interesting? Well, at least until Dillon sends me replacement parts free of charge!

Occasionally you have to clean the dies of lube buildup when using commercial bullets. And sometimes
the primer slide gets gunky and needs cleaning, like every year or so.
