Teslong Rifle Borescope

If anyone has been looking to get a borescope but not wanting to pay the price for a Hawkeye I would suggest looking at the Teslong. I know Lyman has one also but I have always heard the image quality is not too good. There are videos out there on the Teslong and some discussions on sniperhide.com. I just got mine in yesterday late afternoon and had to come back to work offshore this morning so I did not get a chance to take pictures or video showing the clarity from this scope. They can be ordered off of amazon for $50. They are coming out with a wifi model for a little more money. I can tell you I have been impressed with it so far. It plugs into the usb port of my laptop and using the camera function you can take pictures of the bore or video. The image viewed is very clear once the mirror is adjusted for the bore size. It's very simple to set up and use.

I was looking at a similar one last year, can't remember why now but I really needed one for some cast bullet project or other. I didn't buy one because the "common" camera probe that was selling under half a dozen brand names at the time wasn't ACTUALLY small enough for .223. It was metric and just about .220" which of course won't clear the bore diameter. This one looks good, glad there's been an advancement in the tooling. Still marketed by a bunch of companies, I assume you actually bought the Teslong one.

Roger that. Teslong is the one I purchased. Actually my wife bought it for me for Christmas after I hinted enough. I do believe it will fit the .223. Just make sure you look for the rifle borescope otherwise it will pull up some of their endoscopes.

I've had one a couple months, it works on my desktop, but not iphone. I actually planned on using it with a Samsung tablet, but either I haven't found something called OTG or it's not on this unit. I just measured the probe at .195, works fine on 22 cal stuff. Focus for different sized bores is changed by screwing the mirror in or out on the end of the probe. It kind of gets lost in big bores, I've threatened to pick up different sized o-rings to help center it. I think I posted a picture of bore in my thread on the Sig 45 1911 problem thread. With the software you download, you can save individual pictures or videos.
Word of warning, you'll start thinking about replacing some barrels that shoot fairly well after finding a few bad spots in them. Being retired and on a fixed income has save a couple of mine.
