My friend is taking delivery of a H&R LWT 20" 22 Hornet bbl rebored to maxi cerokoted and sites fit for his son. 750$ work on a 175$ gun!!:oops:o_O:oops::oops:

...................................

I got my AAC 300 BLK for $200 new, so I only had $500 wrapped up in mine.

By the time you buy a Contender action, stock set and an MGM barrel, you're right at the $750 mark too. Well, when I started this. TODAY, I see Contender frames for well over $400. and stock sets went up 20%, so it COULD cost a guy nearly $1k.

:oops:Whoaaaa! Complete Deja-Vu-moment there! I swear I said "Complete Deja-Vu-moment there!" the last time too!

This is my ol 357 MAX---Stevens 44 1/2 --fast twist--can't remember 12 maybe??

fun with very heavy bullet & trail boss, well & 38's & 357's too

I don't care for heavies with a full load off the bench, kick's the old short eye relief scope into my glasses & marks them up, off hand not so bad!

I don't know anything about these actions regarding vintage, design, strength, etc. I'm not into "hot-rodding" either, but do prefer to get from the Max what it has to offer, which is why I ask - are these actions capable of handling the typical BOOK max pressures? Not that I necessarily always need to go there, but I do like my safety margins.

That is one neat little rifle.

EDIT: Got my answer! That was easier than I expected to find information on. Seems it's quite popular.

I've seen a couple of the smaller Martinis re-barreled to 357, always wondered if they could be successfully reamed out for the 357 Max.
