The Dodge Ram Truck

Only had two Dodge products, a 1967 Valiant (slant six) ---great car. Only problem was both my boys learned to drive on it and those 13" rims went through tires like crazy. The other car was a 1979 Dodge St. Regious (sp?). Bought it second hand with less than 50K on it drove it around the city and all over BC for work. Other than being underpowered, it gave stellar service until some clown hit it in a parking lot and the insurance co. said there were no parts to be had and wrote it off. I paid 2500.00 for it and when it went for scrap it had 350,000.00 plus on it. I got 1400.00 from the insurance and the only things I put on that car were tires, breaks and other stuff that wears out in normal use. In 2012 I considered buying a brand new Dodge 4x4 pu, until I talked to several guys who had them. Bought a used 2006 Tundra and I am more than happy!

Says the guy who hasn't had to replace his engine two or three times because a common-rail injector failed. Nothing wrong with a VP-44 as long as you don't replace it with a cheap, junky reman one after the p1693 death code happens. Putting a Geno's Garage inline noise isolator on the TPS helps a whole bunch, too. The p7100 was bombproof but not as efficient or drivable as the computer-controlled VP.

Last time I replaced the VP44 I bought the total rebuild (Bosch stopped building new ones in about 2010) from Summit Racing. Also replaced OEM lift pump with FASS unit and replaced injectors with new Bosch OEM injectors.

Only 1.5 hours north of me.
Beware that if you are driving I80 to I29 that part of I29 north is closed.

Ah, Laramie, WY. In my younger years I applied to Cheyenne, WY PD. On the way back home on the train (last few days of October) rail switches were frozen solid on the outskirts of Laramie. Sat there on the train going nowhere for the better part of 6 hours.

I was going to cut north to US 20 and then east to Sioux City. I can't find Nebraska road closures on my phone.

I will take all you can spare. Ranchers and farmers aare only going to get 75% of their irrigation water this year.

I have driven up to Brad's area a number of times and there have been a number of pretty
impressive floods on I-29. Haven't driven it after this one. Should be fairly epic.
A shame that the Loess Museum was destroyed, down by the Sapp Bros truck stop on Neb 2,
just a tic west of I-29.
It was a cool museum, and the lady that was there the day I went thru was really nice and
knowledgeable.
