Nice shooting. Even a 12" rock at over 100 yards is a tough handgun target.

Hey, it is good shooting no matter what. I'm kinda surprised that bullet carried that well at that distance.

A .45 ACP handgun is easily a 200-yard capable platform against man-sized targets. Gallon jugs are easier at 100 than it seems they should be, I can hit them regularly but have a harder time with a soda can at 25 o_O.

The 45 acp in the Blackhawk I find is very accurate and fun to shoot. Hat's off to you Creeker. That's some fine shooting!

you don't need a ton of velocity to make good consistent hits on stuff out there a way's.
the velocity flattens the trajectory out and helps buck the wind a bit better, but it ain't necessary.
I have shot some very nice 100yd groups with silly loads like 4.5grs of clays in the 45 colt.

I own that mould. I haven't used it much since I got a 4 cav MP brass mould for his version of the HG 68.

Want load are you using?

The load in the video was 4 grains of Promo/Red Dot. I'm shooting through 32 pounds of this powder. For a full load I'm using 5 grains. After seating the bullet I'm not crimping, just simply removing the bell.

That is the only .45 ACP bullet I load anymore, it functions in every platform I own (the AR can't function with a bullet having a step in the nose like a SWC due to the bolt lugs riding across the top one in the magazine) and shoots great. Not too bad for a hunting bullet, either, far better than a round nose and more reliable than a hollow point.

4 gr of Promo/RedDot should be a reasonably mild load. Lots of loads in 32 pounds of those powders. And to think I'm using my 16 pounds in 9 mm too....

If he doesn't he could certainly draw one easily. A truncated cone is as si ple a bullet as there is.

This is one of the bullets Lee got right. My 6 cav is probably 20 years old but casts a great bullet that sizes to .452 nicely.

I shoot that Lee 230 gr. TC (regular lube groove) when I need a 230 gr. bullet. It loads slick as glass when using full moon clips in my 625's, too. It hits a good bit harder than 230 gr. hardball, too. It doesn't quite match the accuracy at 25-50 yards as my Mihec #68 H&G but will easily do 1.5" at 25 yards on demand. Good bullet, for sure.

I have looked at this bullet for years thinking 1911 platform. I'm not sure how many I have loaded for my sixgun but maybe after running those through the Ruger I'll load more for my Remington R1. The Winchester brass is reserved for my sixgun.
