Thread Drift

"OK, OK, I'm going as fast as I don't want to go!"
One dark night, in the middle of the day
Two dead boys got up to fight
Back to back they faced each other
Drew their swords and shot each other
A deaf policeman heard the noise
And came and shot the two dead boys.
Now if you think this story is tall
Ask the blind man, he saw it all!

How was that for wandering . . . . feel free to add on as I know there is more to it.

Long time since I heard that one. Do remember getting really ticked when I first moved to Texas, from ks. 0.35$/gal? Whoa. Argued with the Mobil guy at the pump! I thought it was Texas, not taxes.

I remember getting my driver's license when the oil embargo started. No lines in my small Montana town, just higher prices and a 55 mph speed limit. I used to drift on the washboards on the gravel highways. Is that thread drift? Sometimes the snow would drift high enough for snow machines to become neccessary. I had a tx340 that would negotiate the drifts ok, but I'm thinking that wasn't thread drift. I remember... looky there, a squirrel.... where was I going?
Oh yeah, back on topic. Is 400 thread count really worth it for bed sheets?

Sale! Sale! Sale!
We have a gunshow this weekend, in the little town of Homedale, Idaho. I have 4 tables, upon which I will display the goods that I still have from my friend Buck's estate. When I volunteered to do this for his widow, I had no idea that it would take this long...
Don't get me wrong - I'm glad that I can help, and I'm certain that she is getting far more in return than she would have from an auction, or a buyer/reseller - but my better half is ready to have the areas of our home that this stuff occupies, back to normal.

Sailors keep off the grass (actual signs in Norfolk) and they hang on to the grass to keep from falling over?

Ladles and jellyspoons

I stand upon this speech to make a platform
the train I arrived in has not yet come
so I took a bus and walked

I come before you to stand behind you
and tell you something I know nothing about!
Admission is free, pay at the door;
pull up a chair and sit on the floor.

I do remember the last one.
Dad taught me the blind kids, from his dad and probably around in the late 1800s. Maybe reading primer?

California's Central Coast Amid The Insanity
Thread drift seems to be running wild the last few days so thought I would resurrect this thread about thread drift in the hopes that someone will come along and drift it in some more meaningful and enlightening way.

One thread drift was so bad that it took Lamar (the thread drifter extraordinaire himself) to redrift a well drifted thread back to its original origins.

How about that? I edited out all the commas I initially typed and dehyphened several compound words and eliminated at least one apostrophe contracted word and had to have spell checker learn three new words. Do not know what it all means but it sure seems difficult to read.

Saw lots of contrails this morning. Usually none to possibly one is all I see. One was behind a very large 4 engine plane flying E/SE . 5 contrails at a time, curious.

I tie thread to my front sight to get an idea of the wind. Sometimes I don't tie it well and it drifts away.
