I may try that, with 1.5 gr it would be similar to a 22 and give 4,666 shots per lb. Talk about honing an action smooth.

Have never bought Titegroup. Have read that is has similar characteristics to Bullseye, but burns substantially hotter.

I really think it is the old Winchester powder [571? 521? something like that but Winchester dropped it because of the cramped condition issue]
hodgdon picked it up because the recipe was right there and could buy it in volume for like a nickel a pound.

Not Win 571. 571 was essentially the same as HS-7, slower than Unique. Actually approaching Blue Dot. Used to use it for 20 ga field loads.

How the heck does titewad compare? I assume they were close, but when looking on the burn charts titewad is almost beside flash powder.

Is there a nice way to use titewad? I am playing in the subsonic 222 stuff, will a smaller charge work for the same velocity?

There are a number of loads listed for Titewad on the Hodgdon data site. The 2 I know for sure are for 9mm and 45acp. I have used it in 9mm and 38 special with good results for light to medium loads. I never tried for max loads with it.

Surprised that no one has mentioned ETR7. It's supposed to use the same data as titegroup. I'm using it in my 45ACP as a direct replacement for it. Was looking for titegroup and this ETR7 was being discussed on the CB site. Took a chance and tried it. Data's available from Expansion Industries. Still using my first loadings tried...4.5 gr under the Lyman 452460 and 5.0 gr under the Lee 453-230 TC.

I just can't remember the number [the 571 stuck out cause I have a pound of it in the gun room sitting next to some 630 and 680]

Defintely not 571, another certain person here. I have used about 75,000 rounds worth 8.1 gr at a time
in .38 Super and it is near Blue Dot, but higher density, exactly the same as HS-7. I could get a reliable 1250 fps with a 150ish cast
bullet from my Colt Wilson LE Comp 1911, and stay inside pressure limits.

I have been using titewad in 44mag for a couple years..not a high round count..maybe 800? Been using 4.6 gr under 200 gr Lee. I can't recall ever noticing a position sensitive nature, is indeed fast. I load on a square deal so I don't worry too much about a overload, although I would like to rig a camera or mirror to see in the case but haven't yet.

Been using TiteGroup for cat sneeze loads in my 308 and with the Lee TL314-90-SWC sized to .311 and 3.5 grains. 3.2 grains was to much in my 380 but the rifle is fun but no recoil thinking of bumping it up to 4.0 grains where it has some recoil. Burned clean in both firearms.
