Tumblers

Ha, mine was making some bad noises the other day. Was slowing down like the motor was guna lock up. It came out of it, & seems to be working. When it does finally quit I will have cleaned every dollars worth it was capable of.

It's a wonder that vibratory tumblers even work at all after the first year. Ever take one apart and look at the motor? The shaft bushings have no right to last as long as they do.

I have really been enjoying my free old beat up Loretone. I bought a few pounds of SS pins to use with a dash of citric acid and a few drops of Dawn dish soap. Wow. It can make the grungiest brass look new inside and out. Primer pockets and everything.
I just toss them in the toaster oven at 175 for an hour to dry them out. Pretty slick.

Just a heads up my experience has been the same super clean brass with no dust!
I just use a couple cap fulls of auto wash & wax no dish soap or lemishine and my brass comes out mirror bright!
I have tried all combinations just dish soap, with and without lemishine and by far my best results were car wash & wax.
My experience with dish soap cleaned brass is it is clean but discolors quickly.
I can actually feel the difference sizing 9mm brass between wash & wax and plain dish soap too.
I think the super thin film of wax actually helps.

On a side note my well water is hard as wood pecker lips too. Some guys say hard water does need lemishine.

Two Thumbler's, and a Lyman Cyclone. They are all good, the cyclone has a very large capacity and it is fast. I have less trouble with it leaking that I do with the Thumbler's. I still need my Lyman vibratory cleaner for using dry media to remove the Imperial Sizing Wax.

One of my uses for my vibratory tumblers is to dry off my brass after wet tumbling. I blow each case with compressed air to get most of the water inside the case out, then I toss it in the running vibratory filled with walnut & Nu-Finish. It ends up dry, polished, and waxed pretty quickly. I process all my brass in large lots, and it stays clean & bright forever it seems.
