I've got some marked DM 42, and some marked SL 53. Used for Winchester M-1 1944.
All before I was born in '54.
Sometimes older things go together very well.

I have 500 .308 LC '74 once fired cases I bought sometime back. All still had the crimp in the pp. Kind of special to me.

Back in 1960 the National Guard used our club range for their qualification. I was asked to be there, open the gate and hang around as a club representative. I was 18 years old. The Guardsmen policed up the range and filled a five gallon bucket with their empty brass. They gave it to me along with four bandoleers or M2 ammo. The brass was all LC 54. I used and gave away that bucket of brass for many years. I wish I had it back now.

Anyone ever made mini mortars from caliber .50 tracer ammo ? That was a favorite past time when at machinegun range at Ft Hood in 1971-72 doing the range guard routine at night.
