Fiver, I used a simular coating some time back and likes the results too. I painter over with matte blk then lightly sanded exposing interior of "pebbles" made a good looking speckled texture. I was thinking this whn I started but liked this color chosen largely exactly for your description. Is it black? Or Brown?

I liked my camo I did before as well... As I say its paint. I can change at will! ;):p

I primed, sanded, and stone-textured my MDF center console/subwoofer box and then lightly blocked the sharp points off, sprayed on a uniform color, and satin cleared it and it looks just like the plastic interior panels.

My only complaint about acrylic enamel on gun stocks is lack of resistance to solvents, particularly brake cleaner and Ed's Red.

Took my 23 fired cases and carefully measured. Then carefully adjusted the Bench Rest dies to bump the shoulder .003. Carefully cked against the Wilson gauge and two dial Calipers.
Then thrned the necks to .012. The Winchesters (11 all just where touched near the case mouth and end of the neck, @ shoulder. The 244's cut only on one side and early 6mm Remingtons only near shoulder.

Primed with Remington BR Primers then charged with 45g IMR4831, 85g Sierras 1/2 hp & 1/2 sp bullets @ 2.900.

47.5 is max load in Nosler9. Not looking for top just break in ammo here. But taking notes as how it shoots.

Unfortunately, last .477 group was with RE19 that I have no more of. :17:

But its not broke in and not uncomon for its "tastes" to change.

Fully prepped 40 6mm Rem, fire-formed cases. Including neck tuning annealing flash hole clean & de burr.
Then primed all with RWS primers.

Then I charged them with re22 starting mid scale. Raising .5g 5 per charge. Then seated Speer 105g Spitzers.
My first ladder load for 6mm Remington

yeah they are a little bit.
i haven't heard RWS in a long time.
too bad you run out of RL-19.
i really like that powder in the X57 case family, the only one i ain't really tried it hard in yet is the 8mm.

I find that anything over 3050 fps with 100 gr. Hornady spbt's or Nosler 95 gr. and I start getting sticky bolt lift. I have a 22" bbl 6mm Rem. While my OAL is limited to about 2.850 my guess is you are flirting with pretty hot pressures with 105's at 3100. I mostly use CCI primers and they don't crater, nor flatten much.
My "pet load" pushes either the Nosler 95 gr. or Hornady 100 at just under 3010fps. I use H4831, got similar velocity and pressure signs but slightly less accuracy with RL-19. Personally another 200fps would do nothing for my hunting and may complicate things if I get a close range shot at deer sized game with common cup and core bullets.

Good morning Rick!

Remember, this is a long action (3.4") throated for long seated heavy bullets. When it was chambered it was throated for this Speer Bullet seated 3"+. (not 28.25" as most 6mm data is derived.) This combo can greatly drop pressures.
The bolt lift, upon firing feels the same as dropping the bolt and releasing the sear on a empty chamber... Literally ZERO resistance.
These primers are RWS domed primers that flatten upon seating.

So, based upon my experience, Im not immediately or overly alarmed. You can see the crater dosent get any more and ever so slightly flattening can be seen.
But this much shallower seating, (3"plus OAL) combined with chamber throating, usually reduce pressures fairly substantially. Running these loads thru quick load, also show them in safe levels.

Im probably going to switch to my Preferred Federal 210 Match primers.
The next powder will be 4831. Unsure if I will choose sc or regular or IMR or H.... (Probably both)

Im not a velocity hound, but in same regard, I want the reasonable velocity thats attainable. Any 243's can do 100g/3000fps :p;)

Today I pulled 24 rounds from two different loads, then 8 more from yesterdays ladder. I made the 24(remaining from 100) for break in. They was adiquate for there job but not as accurate as what the rifle can shoot.
I also had 49 fired cases, these are thrice fired and time to anneal. All of these have been fully prepped including neck turning. I finished anneal and sized these then trimmed. They barely shaved but all had a bit taken off. All 49 got a quick wash too, after anneal.

In the mail today came some nw boxes I ordered. I have a bunch but wanted a new color to differintiate 6mm.

None of these cases showed excessive case head expansion.
