John Prine died today.
Was kinda strange, were listening to him this afternoon while playing cards with Karyn. Then and email came to Karyn saying he passed from Corona - 19. Saw him play here in Fairbanks in the early 80's I believe it was. Great music.

Prine is a major part of all my play lists. I remember first hearing him in college - 1980 - like it was last night. And was listening to him coming home this evening. Then saw he passed away. Real bummer

That’s sad. I did not hear and that more sad... If it don’t “sell” they don’t report it.

John died from the last assault on his health, but like a lot of Covid victims, it is cumulative.
My Dad always told me my grandpa died of a heart attack at 65. Well yeah, I guess he did. But I found out later in life he had emphysema for years following a 3 pack a day habit. So his poor old over worked heart crapped out and got the blame.
R.I.P. John Prine, I've loved some of your music for decades. Like many entertainers, I could pass on the political stuff.

Prine:
a liberal Ex-G.F. introduced me to his music in 1994. It's pretty good, but never made my "To Buy" list.

Never heard of John Prine either and only recognized the one song Bonnie Raitte (sp?) covered. Not sure how I missed him, I'm kind of into "musician's musicians" like JJ Cale, Levon Helm, Mark Knopfler, Donald Fagen, etc.

Just give John Prine and Iris DeMent's "In Spite of Ourselves" and think about relationships, and love, and life. Won't take but a couple of minutes.
a kinda theme song for wife and I (who just celebrated our 25th). I love everything he did. Wife woke up this morning and started playing Prine! Was on until I left the house 3-4 hrs later.

The one time I have cast, so far, just so happened I had on a mixed up tape of John Cougar's,Meatloaf's and REM's greatest hits. Might have accounted for my bad timing.:headscratch:and also a little bit of indigestion.:D

What ever is on one of the few stations we get out here. We aren't over blessed with choices. Now when in the car I do have satellite radio and as I'm a little older than some I listen to the 50s on 5!

I see a lot of SRV fans around here. I have to say that it has been my favorite guitar for several years. His version of voodoo child is the one I like the most.
I am from Argentina, so I listen to many musicians from my country, I leave you a song in English by a band called DIVIDIDOS.
