What do you listen to while casting?

Ben asked to see where you cast, I want to hear what you listen to while casting.

I am a big fan of 70s and 80s hard rock. I have probably cast more bullets while listening to AC/DC than anything else. Back in Black is just about the perfect length album for a Magma 40 pounder.

Sometimes it is Metallica, Journey, Van Halen, or Zepplin. Got to have some music when casting. Makes it seem to go faster.

I’m a big fan of Hank Williams Jr radio on Pandora although I mostly listen to podcast about farming or Lee Creek Baptist preaching on sermon audio.

Mark Knopfler, Journey, Slim Dusty, 70s outlaw country, and the list goes on. I have a range of music likes. Now and then an audiobook or sermon. Sometimes Phil Robertson podcast or PreachermanPiper on YouTube.

No music, mostly I just listen for the wife to holler out the back door that I'm needed in the house for something. Usually just as things are going smooth and dropping great looking bullets.
I would learn to lock that door....

All those, plus SRV, Eagles, ZZ Top, Dire Straits, Doobie Brothers, Allman Brothers, The Band, Rush, and the requisite 80s hair bands. All time favorite casting music though is Pink Floyd (after David Gilmour came along).

Don't try casting to Dubstep.

Pink Floyd is good but my wife won’t let me listen to it when driving. She says it is too mellow and makes her drift off.

Wow. For me opera, Wagner, 1700's classical or 1950 Doo-Wop. Then once in a while Hot Rod tape from Hot Rod Lincoln to Little Deuce Coupe.

If I were to listen it would probably be to the old western swing stuff, or maybe bluegrass or the 50s pop. Doubt the quality of casting would hold up though.

Shoot. It really depends. Here goes....
Pink Floyd. Moody blues. Love these two. Late 70’s post punk/ New wave stuff. Too much to list. 80’s pop. Some 90’s grunge. Old country, Hank, Willie, Johnny, Waylon. About the only thing I can not stand is rap and new country. Good solid 80’s anything is where I fit in the best.

not while casting, at least yet. But did get a new pair of nice headphones for while tying flies. My first go to is (heavy/loud) Classical, followed closely by Blues/Jazz/Big Band/Billie Holiday. Also like old/odd Country. Robert Earl Keen and such, John Prine, and such...

Just about anything from the 60s and 70s. Top three, Quicksilver Messenger Service ( Happy Trails the most,) any thing from Led Zepplin , and any Pink Floyd.

Oooh, I forgot about Led Zep. None of their CDs in the gun room though. I'm one of those dinosaurs who never got into digital media other than CDs, so if I didn't buy a hard copy I don't have it. No sat or internet radio, either. Maybe I need to fix that. I set up a nice feed at work from the sat radio and get 80s hard rock hits like Scorpions, Styx, Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Def Leppard, and so on.

Iron Maiden. Big fan! I was on a big 80’s Rock/metal kick for a long time. I have really got into to 80’s new wave stuff as of late. Depeche Mode, New Order, The Cure, so on and so forth.
