This dog doesn't either....just finished mowing. Ugh wanted to get it done before it got hot.....86* and 70% humidity. Cooling off a bit before I hit the shower.
The past few days have been pretty mild, mid-80s to low 90s. We haven't run the A/C for 4 days since the humidity has lowered some (right now 90* and 24%). This happens almost every August about mid-month--temps mellow out, doves take off to Mexico thinking that summer is over, then Labor Day Weekend arrives and the oppressive heat returns until mid-October. Some doves come back, usually right after the early season closes on Sept. 15.
It's been 100+/75 for several weeks, typical. UV index has been very high, I don't know the numbers but direct sun feels like heat from a fire on bare skin.
come on you guy's, your acting like it's summer.
we got near 70 today [finally,, after barely making the 50's] and we are heading towards night time temps in the mid. 30's here in a day or two.

Looks like we started a heat wave yesterday. Not aweful yesterday @ 91 but today humidity is supposed to ramp up significantly and temps said to top 96. Tomorrow same, making it official.
Special weather advisory for Thursday night thru Saturday:
Snow down to 2 thousand feet with a dusting in the valley floor. Rain the rest of the time.
About 8 days of rain 4 or 5 more rain days, except for the cold snap. Starting Tuesday next week they are predicting temperatures back up into the 60's and some sunshine
The weather spin doctors are back at it again. Summer is returning today, highs 99* and the usual moderate humidity. Tomorrow and Friday is scheduled to hit 104*-105*, and the spin doctors are calling that a "Heat Warning". C'MON, MANG--104* to 105* is NORMAL. They must be selling ad space for tires or something. Bloviation is everywhere.
DROUGHT CONDITIONS DESSICATE DEATH VALLEY!! FILM AT 11!!
It's all about the timing, you see. During the Ice Ages, a string of lakes existed from Owens Lake all the way to Death Valley, which was a terminal lake 1100 feet deep. Maybe that is what the tree-huggers get all spun up about--they want to troll for lake trout, and missed their chance.
I know of terminal lake that 60 yr ago was a declining commercial fishery for lake trout . 40 yr ago there were still 10-12# fish taken often . 20 yr ago 3-5# fish were the rule but the Mackinaw were long gone I don't think it'll support brine shrimp now despite being over 200' deep .
It feeds from a source that also happens to feed the northern most wells of a particular SoCal city's water pipeline ....... But a 100' drop in the last 75 yr is a global warming thing .
It hit 100° here today , 70%+ humidity . Had to run duck water again .
Pretty darned nice here day after day. Highs in the mid 80's, lows in the 60's, some over cast, perfect evening motorcycling weather.
Worst crop of rag weed I think I have ever seen. Conditions must be perfect. On the positive side, the biggest crop of cardinal flower I have ever seen in the Mississippi River bottom lands. After several years of high water, this year's low water has exposed a bunch of alluvial soil and there are thousands of bright red blossoms. Here is a photo of my bush hog covered in rag weed pollen after mowing 3 acres. Apparently I no longer get the allergic reaction I did as a kid.
That much ragweed pollen would not be a good thing for me. My immune system gets triggered by it from many miles away.
I only developed an allergy to it within the past few years but had never in my life seen what I recognized as a ragweed plant in our area. But I noticed that bloodweed looked an awful lot like Ragweed except it gets 8' tall and stalks as thick as a shovel handle. One whiff of the tiny, yellow blossoms and my face blew up. A-HAAAH! Now I know what to watch for and take meds in advance of the bloom. Bloodweed is also called "Texas Giant Ragweed" because of course everything has to be bigger in Texas
