Weather man says low 70s for today.
We are headed up to a high lake for some trout fishing and a hot dog roast.
It was in the upper 60s yesterday with a couple of light showers. Muggy.
I fired up the new pellet grill and smoked some pork ribs. Yummy.

We have entered our warm days with some heavy rains in the evening time.
most days we have lows in the 40s and highs in the 70s right now.
The plains states do well at growing thunderstorms.

California's Central Coast Amid The Insanity
Woke up to a fog bank sitting on top of the hills between us and the coast. Now the fog can't make up its mind where it wants to be nor for how long.

I love Spring in MN...cuz ya never know what you are gonna get.
It was about 2 weeks ago, when I posted a photo of the Snow Tornado, that was just east Of Glencoe. Yesterday, it was so nice, like 70º nice, almost no breeze, and sunny, that my buddy/veggie farmer friend transplanted his first batch of tomatoes into the field. While they will likely fail, he always has to try. Myself, yesterday, I removed the tarp roof off my firewood shelter...figuring the chance of any more snow in minimal. Then I coated half the floor with linseed oil/MS blend, and also gave a coat to the back steps (made of Oak planks) as well as the handles on my wheelbarrows. Then I started a campfire and drank beers.

Outdoor thermometer is sitting at 91 right now. I spent the morning shooting, it was in the mid 80s, perfect for heavy cotton long sleeve buttoned and tucked over a heavy cotton tee shirt.

Long sleeves in the mid 80s?

Those are gone by the mid 60s here, Rally and fiver probably lose them at 50.

I was being facetious.

We use mode-of-dress in the desert to locate the nutbars. Ya see someone in layered clothing when it's 105* outside.......there could be an issue. Just sayin'. Of course, a light cotton chambray shirt is good to have on with sleeves rolled down when in the direct sunlight on a 110* day. When temps run that high, get things done EARLY and get out of the sun by 9:30-10:00 A.M. Estivate until about 4 P.M., then come back out. We call it "Shading up".

75 is when I start to get chilled. The past two weekends I've worn sweaters over Henley shirts in the house because the wife thinks 68 is hot and after a couple hours I start to get a headache from being cold. What's REALLY fun is coming in from working in 100+ soaked in sweat and the AC is maintaining 66....I get sick within a couple minutes if I stay in.

:D:D:D I can never get enough of Ian's hot weather talk

One of my braggadocios stories that gets repeated plenty:
>>>Back when I was a teenager, living on a lake in MN...my golden years. I loved to water ski. I skied with the same group of friends. There were other people on this same lake that would ski as well. It was kind of a thing to be the first one's out on the lake to water ski (after ice out) ...as well as the last one's to ski (before freeze up).

One year, my group was the first ones out...7 days after ice out. Ice out was April 1, and we happened to have a 70º and sunny day on April 7, which must have been a Saturday or Sunday, because we would have been in school on a week day. My friends had one wet suit, that they shared, I was a bit chubby back then and it didn't fit me, so I skied without a wet suit. I made it all around the lake (a little over a mile), My legs went from red, to blue, to white...dang, that was cold.

JonB,
Must be a Mn. thing. I just did the handles on my wheelbarrow two days ago also.
Nice day today, about 56 with a little wind. Got the last couple rows of landscape timbers pulled out today, that were still frozen in a few days ago. They were 8x8 treated timbers that lasted a grand total of four years! Completely rotten. Now the wife wants blocks like the retainer wall along the driveway. I told her I'd stack the blocks if she would fill them with crushed rock. Got the "Bad Eye" for that one. LOL

Cool and sunny this morning 40* expecting highs in the mid 50's.

My cold water skiing experience is a little hazy. Seems like after a day and night drinking at a college friends house in May, we decided the reason I had trouble skiing barefoot was my boat wasn't fast enough. Seems you have to be doing over 50 mph. I don't rightly know if he was right or not.......but he dragged my drunken frozen butt all across that lake at 55+. Water is hard as a rock at those speeds......Mohammad Ali in his prime couldn't have beat me any worse than the licking I took that day. The young, foolish, and invulnerable: It is a miracle that I survived to maturity.
