What is your weather today?

After a high of 72 yesterday with 40+ mph southerly winds we had an over night low of 51, and calm winds right now. But....hold on, here comes the cold front with 35 mph NW winds and a temperature drop into the 30's tonight and highs in the 40's Wednesday. Oh boy, I could use some stable mild weather.

Man I don't miss winds like you folks get, it's a plus here in the interior of Alaska, generally it's calm or light breezes. We do get high winds but it's rare.

Well we're get some more snow, not today, but 4 more days predicted. We are leaving for a month to see the kids and grandkids in Washington and Oregon. But, with the snow, I decided to put a post in on the main beam in my small side shop, 24 X 24 attached to the big shop. I built both shops, post and beam out 45 foot Cedar surplus telephone poles I picked up 40 plus years ago. Anyway they were probably 50 years old when I got them, but, still in good shape. The main beam spans the 24 feet, but it's probably just fine but, well if it decided not to be "fine" it could be inconvenient. So I whacked together a built up post and hammered it in place for piece of mind. I have another temporary post I built before, but, it's in a snow bank somewhere. Can't remember where. It's probably next to the whos-it right next to the what's-it's as Mom would say

Just some stability please, please. 72 one day, 20's for a low a couple days later. Wind, wind, oh and more wind. My boat is rigged and ready to go hand line trolling for walleyes but I just can't get a suitable day. Monday was nice enough, but with the high winds blowing upstream on the Mississippi the white caps looked daunting and boat control would have been a joke.

S'pose to be nice Saturday and Sunday, but that is Easter Weekend and family take precedence. Besides weekends are an even worse clown show than they used to be. Fishing license sales showed a high teens percentage increase last year with the Wu-Flu and you can't find anywhere to go without other people around. The luster of "other people" wore off about, oh, 45 years ago maybe.

Yesterday's scheduled 75 turned out to be 82. Not complaining about the sunny, clear and calm that went along with it, it's just that I've a lot of outdoor projects lined up and 65 would be a much preferred temperature to do them in. I'm hoping today's scheduled 75 doesn't turn out to be another 82.

SNOW AND SLEET . Looks like it is going to be warmer by Saturday, but this is Ohio that can change.
Kinda hoping it gets warm enough to paint Saturday.

We're at 31 here. Hopefully, the last of it. Had to take Cindy's plants into the garage, overnight, the last two days.

13 this AM but it is sunny today 45 later today, with it warming for the next week. Still a patch of snow 10 ft. X 4 ft. from the winter snowblowing.

Just flew into Seattle last night and pulled up the weather advisory for the interior of Alaska and the prediction by Sunday night is 8 to 10 inches with up to 16 inches in the hills. Guess where my place is.
I have a house sitter who can take care of things but I hate not being at the homestead when crap happens.
Green and no snow here, mid 50’s here, kinda feeling guilty, but I will get over it.

Lovely day yesterday, just frosty in the morning and high 60's, no wind and bright sunshine. Night sucked! City replaced all the old street lights with sodium vapor lights, and now it will never be dark again, No stars ever again, you can read 24 hours a day on my deck now.
