What is your weather today?

Rain today and forecast for couple more. Last I heard we were 7” behind normal. Max color display for the trees. Should have a dump truck full of leaves in the yard in about a week.

The heat returned with malice aforethought today--102* at 3 P.M., with more of same through Thursday. Imagine how THRILLED I am about those forecasts. Temps are supposed to range up to 107* this week. Clear, dry, and winds are supposed to blow Tues-Thurs, making for red flag fire warnings. What fun.

Fall on the high steppes here also. Low this morning 41 and high predicted at 81. Cloudless sky and light winds with scrub oaks turning color and the trees in town getting red and gold. NO SMOKE IN THE AIR!

Sunday had another spectacular, cherry-red, smoke-filtered sunset, a result of the Napa/Sonoma Glass Fire, and yesterday's sunrise and sunset were the same. Shades of the three local fires, of which the Dolan Fire is still depositing some ash.

Since Fall became official, our sun exposure has increased, or put another way, the June gloom has decreased. Yesterday was clear, calm and 80. Man, that sure changed this morning, when another unseasonable, very dense, and damp fog rolled in. The weather guessers have the sky scheduled to be clear at 11:00, with a high of 72.

105* currently, 12-15 MPH winds, low humidities--red flag warning again. Ate brunch on the patio today at our Tuesday place, and by 12:30 we were well done. Mizzabul. No reloading today, but I could probably melt & blend alloys in the direct sunlight if I was so-minded. One of our number opined that truly cool weather never occurred until about Hallowe'en, and that trick-or-treating often got short-circuited by rain events. He was told to keep such heresies to himself. I generally don't mind the heat very much, but today it just flat kicked my aspirations. This Getting Old stuff is no fun at all.

Saw a cornbread yellow moon rise last night, and saw it set a smoke-filtered fiery red this morning.

None of that here, we filter out CA before it gets here. :D Clear and nearly a full moon and bright stars, temp in the low 60's, no wind.

I think it got to 108* here today, we were in the mountains and missed that delightfulness. 102* is the guess for Friday locally, we'll stay home and estivate in the A/C and go another day without #452423 and #366408 castings to play with. I should have pored metal last week (in the 80s) BUT NOOOOOO, I found other trouble to get into instead.

Well today our world is turning white. Just a light coating so far, but here to stay until tax day. Under 10 hours of sunlight, currently losing 7 minutes (it slows until) a day until December 20.

The heat has left since my last writing in this thread, last week was very pleasant. That was too good to last, though--yesterday (10/13) was 96* here and today was 98*. Same story tomorrow.

October weather has finally arrived, my favorite month of the year. Mostly calm with clear skies, daytime temperatures in the mid-70s and overnights in the low 50s. The next two days are scheduled to have highs in the low-80s.

Fall here on the high steppes, as we had .03" rain yesterday and .04" today. Last of the walnuts fell down after the rain today, leaves are all golden. Lows in mid 30's and highs in the 60's. Fresh snow on the ridge above the house. Yep my favorite time also, wool shirt in the morning, and T-shirt in the afternoon.
