Where can i look?

I have multiple Savage Axis rifles. When i am shooting for groups and experimenting with loads I like to load each round as i shoot. Is there anywhere i can look to find a temporary follower for the magazine to make it easier to chamber a round. Without jiggaling the rifle to get the loaded ammunition aligned with the chamber.

Skip SSS. Unless you want to wait for at least a year or more. And it is kind off hard to get them to refund your money when they won't answer the phone after they have your money.

One of my milsurp bolt actions came to me minus the magazine spring and follower. So, I carved a sled out of wood to fit. It worked so good that I didn’t get around to buying a proper spring and follower for a few years.

Kinda hokey solution, but it worked for me.

The small ejection port of the Savage helps to make the receiver stiffer and is generally a good trait. However, that small ejection port also makes single loading from the port a bit more difficult. Because the Savage is a push feed action, I see no harm in simply inserting the round partially into the chamber (instead of just letting it sit on top of the magazine follower) and closing the bolt on the cartridge.

Thanks for that information.

I have never done business with the company, nor have any affiliation with the company, though did buy one of their single round loaders from Midway many years ago.

I couldn't locate any while perusing Midway's site, thus the link directly to the company's web-page. Midway may still carry a selection, I just couldn't find them.

I'm with P&P, just poke it in there. On all my 110-1111-112 etc. actions I just snap the cartridge under the feed lips and push it home with the bolt.

I bought the device for my various Mausers and the 03A3.
Ah, ha, now that I think of it, I wasn't using it, in the 03A3, when it decided it didn't like the Lee 31141 (no 0) nose. I was feeding it singly, from the magazine, and the nose would jam.
I'll have to be an Indian giver and get the mould back, from my son-in-law, and give the bullet another chance.
