I would like to revive this thread. I have one of the new Henry single shots being opened up by Bellm to .357 Max. I have both DW .360 and 357 Max brass. I have some RCBS 35-200gc cast up, ready to load and some Cast Performance 180's. I also have some of the coveted Hornady 180 ssp bullets that I mistakenly bought for my .358 Win. For now I have a new can of IMR 4227 and plenty of Alliant 2400. May have to get some Accurate 1680? Any help would be greatly appreciated. What do you want to do with it? You can go 360 DW levels for deer under 75 yards to screamers with the 358627 which is the longest I find practical in the 10 contender and 24" NEF. H110/WW296 work as does AA9, 820 for lower velocities. 300 MP seems to be the king if accuracy is there in your gun.
My NEF is bloodied with a 180 fn from an old group buy but I could have killed that buck just as easily with a 38 special. Decide practical limits for ranges where you hunt and what body size you need to penetrate.

I am following this as well for my and a friends 357 Max Henry. I have a 180 gr Larson rfp coming, the RCBS 35-200, and a NOE 35-230rfp mold which I would like to use for whitetail at closer ranges. Don't need any 'screamers', just accurate plate smackers. I have IMR 4227 and Accurate # 9, willing to get another powder if necesary? Thanks, hc18flyer
