Have seen a lot of "interesting" behavior. That's why I have a hobby.

I have spent 25 Years + being a Revolutionary War Re-enactor Much of that time I worked with the public: I can tell you how many times teachers ...knowing I was discussing 18th Century life would confuse this with life in the 1860"s ( Civil War as we called it "Silly War") they would even fight with me!!!

My all time funniest Public Contact occurred when I was at a Fort on the Delaware River in PA which I portrayed a "long-hunter" Explaining What I did for a living at the 1760's time period to a family of adopted children from NYC... I was telling them how I went out and got the food I needed for the settlement using my longrifle! A little black girl age maybe 8 years old piped up and said to me in an aggitated way "so you go into the store with your longrifle and take the food you need?"

Well what do you say to that?

Just blow her mind entirely with the truth. "There were no stores, we shot deer to eat."

My biggest interactions with the public were at airshows with my Long EZ, a homebuilt
aircraft made entirely of composites, with the engine in the rear, a canard in the
front (tail) and with the nose wheel which retracted for parking in the nose down
position. . . . . . . . . explaining why for the 60th time that day took some concentration
to be pleasant. After all, THEY weren't the ones that asked the same question just
2 minutes ago. The best news was that many were pilots and could understand
the explanation of center of gravity and such. Thank goodness for airshow crowds being
mostly "airplane folks".

Had some truck drivers that used to deliver to me, they were like family.

Some years after I left that job, one of them delivered a load to my new job. Like a family reunion!

HOWEVER... The wife did not believe me when I was telling her about a driver from a different company... Until she was with me one day.

The guy started his route in northern Idaho, and ten days later got to southern Utah. I don't think he had bathed on his whole route, probably not the whole year.

I had to get into the trailer with him, while the wife was doing her best not to vomit from 35' away...
