When I got out of the Army in 1989, I moved to Lexington, KY. Bud’s gun shop was in its infancy on Industry Road.
Over the course of 6 months, I bought several handguns from his partner, Ernie Dunn.(gone now).
One day I was in and dickered on a M1956 Target. Ernie, I’d like to have a set of smooth presentation grips for this.
He rummaged under the counter and brought out a box of grips about 18” square. Help yourself.
These are from when guys bought a gun and wanted rubber grips. I picked out two sets of presentation grips, two sets of magnum grips and a set of magnas.
What I owe you. Nothing. You’ve bought a bunch of guns from us. See anything more in there you want. I did but quit before I made a hog of myself.
Must have been $2,000 worth of grips in there at today’s prices./beagle
