We are well away from the eclipse zone. You guys can keep it. And the idiots.
I am very willing to send our idiots your way
So now I’m an idiot.
There’s going to be plenty, but some people have an educational reason for going. Well that’s what Karyn tells me anyway. We’re driving 5,000 miles each way just to see this event.
Plus a Cousin in Mississippi, friends in Arkansas, 2 brothers in California, a God daughter, our Grandson in North Hollywood of all places, and my Father’s best friend Ruben, 85 years old fishing buddy who’s in Santa Monica. Not to mention s two sons in the Northwest and 4 more grandkids.
We brought our boys down to the Southern California desert in 1986 to view Halley’s Comet.
There’s going to be a bunch of people for sure. One town of 2,600, Clarksville in northeast Texas is expecting 50,000. So it’s going to be nuts for sure. We plan on being to our destination by Friday the 5th and just hang out, read books, play cards, and BBQ. Oh yeah, and take naps.
My brother is pulling is trailer from California, Dave is bringing his trailer from Moore Oklahoma were he keeps it at his sisters. We have 3 RV sites right next to each other.
Yeah we’re nuts to be leaving 2 feet of snow and 30 degree temperatures, but everyone has a different definition of idiocy.
7 AM - March 18th, 7 degrees. At least it’s above zero. We will be pulling out by this time tomorrow.
Yeah there’s going to be idiots, but if you’re somewhere nice, 70* rain or shine, under your awning, in a lawn chair, with a cranberry vodka, I could put up with it.
Karyn will be carrying in case there’s a problem.
