Certainly did not mean to imply you are an idiot.
Now driving 10K miles? To me that is a bit crazy but then again, I detest driving long distances.
I am thinking of the drunken jerks who will take over some areas and just leave a mess.

How old is Biscuit? Bella the Boxer turned eleven in October and is failing. Literally, on her last legs.............losing control of the back legs. :( The same thing happened to our 10-year-old German Shepherd.

Had a pure bred Boxer for 14 years, he did quite well most of that time but finally had a stroke. No Brightwell Gin Rummy Hun no more. :( I remember that dog like I had seen him this morning, but he has been gone for about 55 years.

I've had a soft spot in my heart for Boxers ever since. Just ask Bella.

Glaciers,
We all have our things, when mentioned, that others here will say, WHAT? THAT"S CRAZY.
I'm been the only one to talk about ebikes, Bret sure gave me a lashing about that, But I love him for it.
Anyway, I'm glad you have lots of people scheduled into see, and it's not just a trip to a small town that will have 50K or more people Zooming in and around ...cuz that would drive me nuts. Glencoe gets a little bit crazy in the early summer, during the few weeks as the 1500+ migrant workers are arriving ...but once the canning plant gets into full production, it calms down. (I am one block from the canning plant and two blocks away from migrant housing.)
.
I think my favorite vacations were several different camping trips in the Big Horn Mountains (WY) in late 80s and early 90s. There was so few people, I almost got lonely, LOL :p If I ever go again, I think it'll be more time spent at Thermopolis, I only spend a day there, on only one trip through there. I think that'd be an Ideal place for an old guy to spend spring break.

Biscuit’ just turning 7.
Yeah that’s a tough one how they struggle to get up. Betsy Two Toes had that problem I believe she was 12. Molly our last Cattle Dog had the same affiliation but she made it to 15. And Buster as well Collie Shepherd mix.
They make training wheels harness that you can buy and in some cases that gives back n mobility again. Training wheels isn’t correct but that’s as good of a description as I can think of at the moment.
Hate it when dogs get old, old is ok but when they start to fail.

Training wheels make for a good video. But in reality, dogs sleep 90% of the time, intermittently. Not going to keep putting them on and off, constantly!

I hear ya ! Dogs live to far short a time.
Had not the airline we use got booked we would have been flying into Orlando that day. But we got on the better price and arrive 4 days after.
Get the car up and moving in the 6 days we are there bugging our son and wife.

Yeah there’s certainly going to be a good share of idiots, I don’t feel I’m in that category often, but on occasion yes.
Now crazy I can identify with that.

Thermopolis huh?
you like hanging out in caves do ya?
that's pretty much it there, unless you go over to the lake or drive along the river.
not much fun driving a rig through those tunnels though, especially when someone is coming from the other direction.

well one,, with a big hot spring in it.
it's just past where you turn left to go up the canyon, it looks like a big mound of dirt.

Oh, I think we seen that...I recall going to where the Big Hot spring originated. I think I'd need a insulated canoe to go up that cave, LOL.

yeah hard to miss especially if you stop at that restaurant sitting right where the road splits.

The idiots we're preparing for are the ones who waited until the last minute to check over their airplanes before the trip and blow their rotted tires on touchdown, have to recharge their worn-out batteries every time they start up, forgot their tie-downs and chocks, want a "quick oil change", and didn't bring anything they need with them.

The ones who planned in advance, are reasonably capable of handling their own misfortunes and breakdowns, know where they're going, and keep a low profile are not going to be any kind of a problem.

Every local mile I drive, every day of the year, I have to contend with tourists.

John, anymore don't know if I could handle a 10,000 mile road trip, but yours sure would be fun.

As Ian said, you have to stop at Cline's Corners. We turned South, from there, and drove to Roswell to visit my since deceased reloading mentor, co-worker, and friend and his wife.

Well going to be hopefully pulling out at 7 this morning for Whitehorse, Yukon, 590 miles. Crappy night sleep, letting Karyn sleep till 6. I envision a couple of naps stops to cook more coffee.
Weather looks good mid 30’s partly cloudy.

Thermopolis -- just take some alloy with you to cast and the air will add all the sulfur it needs. Take a gas masks too.
