I just picked up a couple New colors.
Eastwood Cadillac Blue its dark blue looks just like the old Federal Nyclad bullets. Exactly a color I have wanted. It coated well but was first time use.

Prysmatic powders Bronze Chrome. I like this one allot! Its a bronze metalic color. It coats very well same as best eastwoods.

I always chuckle when I read how well and completely clear coats.. How do you know? Its CLEAR! :p ;) But it goes on white and appears to coat well for me too.

Smokes is place ta buy/try new colors. He knows what has worked well for others, HOW WE USE IT! Remember these are designed for use with a electro static gun not shake n bake. So some dont "work" as well as others.

Eastwood Ford light blue $12 for 8 oz. or $17 lb. plus shipping https://www.eastwood.com/hotcoat-powder-ford-light-blue.html I always grab a couple extra storage bottles for powders that come in plastic bags, seem to keep the powder fresher longer https://www.eastwood.com/bottle-and-lid-replacement-set-3-pak.html.............

NICE! Thank you!

Wonder why they call it "Henry's" on Amazon and "Ford" on Eastwood's site. Same stuff from every other comparison.

I like those bottles too. Plenty if uses for something like that in any reloading room.

Well, you just went and undone what you almost done did, Brian! You ALMOST convinced me to stop standing everything on end.

I was right on the edge of rationalizing that I could use your basket-method with clear because I wouldn't see the bare spots and boogers and could just pretend they weren't there, but nooooo, you go and say THAT!;)

Dangit, man! NOW I have to keep standing them all on end.;)

I used ta basket bake. It was good enough never saw a accuracy difference but man I like the looks of purdy bullets!! I bagged up some for a friend in Tx last night and they was basket baked. I almost felt ashamed ta send them!

Regarding keeping the powder fresh;

I put desiccant bags in the original container, where most of the powder is stored. I keep a smaller amount of powder in small glass jars, with screw-on lids. On a daily basis, I only open the small jars to get a spoonful of powder. The large container is only opened when I need to refill the jar, which is perhaps 3-4 times a year.

I don't know if it helps, but I've not had problems with deteriorating powder function so far.

the one i got yesterday is black powder and fairly fine, coats good though.[no idea who makes it, it just got here]

it cooks off to a mottled darker grey, i mixed it and the silver grey i have 50-50 and it makes a super nice semi shiny dark grey that mimics old lead bullets to a tee.
might just mix the two together completely and store a bunch of it in some 1lb. powder containers i have then wrap them in a zip lock plastic bag.
doesn't take much to keep the powder good, the one i been using for 5-6 years now is in a plastic coffee can with a thin piece of plastic under the lid.
it's shoved in a box and sits on the floor right next to the garage wall.
Does it have to be right next to the garage wall? Would an interior house wall work just as well? :p:rofl:

Well recently got in a new order of powders.

Started with a sample pack or different colors in little baggies Eastwood use to sell. Really liked the blue but at that time I needed something that covered real thick because I was working with some way undersized Bullets .
I had money for 1 lb so went with maroon., After testing various collors.
I can get .003 extra diameter with maroon in one coat with very little effort. Can cut that down by shaking in the basket a bit more. Ben using from the same 1lb. bag of Eastwood maroon for four years now. It is half empty. Keep double bagged, dispense with a tablespoon that I leave on the bag. Never had an issue with humidity.
Figure I want to color code bullets by caliber. Just so when a label comes off,or they get mixed up, at least my boy will know the caliber and gun it is for.
Also to idiot proof the ammo for my wife.
So ordered Easton Ford Blue and Periwinkle.
Never tried the Periwinkle so may be doing a few in it after this next 45 ACP casting session. Just to see how well it coats.
