Due to my increased health issues I guess it's pretty much 38/357 for now. My bullet of choice is going to be the 358156 with gas check and powder coated. SW 686 and my favorite the Rossi 92. Love that little rifle. So I'm going to be using just one mold for now. Pulmonary doctor tomorrow. To see where I'm at. To many years of cigarettes and breathing all the fiber at the plant. So,what's your thoughts on this bullet. Thanks for the prayers and well wishes... Johnny

Johnny,
Sorry to hear about your medical situation. Was the plant up where you are living now in PA?

IMHO, the best all around bullet. Not needed for the 38 special, but great for the 357. If I could only have one, that would be it.

Hang in there on the health issues. Just one day at a time.

The Lyman #358156 is one of my favorite bullets to shoot in 38/357 loads. I have several other molds, but it's become my go-to bullets loaded long in 38 Special Skeeter loads and for standard 357 Mag. loads. Hope everything goes well at the doctor's appointment.

When I shot the small bore cartridge, 358156 was a favorite. I had more 38 S&W Special cases than magnum cases so I loaded the Skeeter load in the 38 S&W Special case, with the bullet seated in the lower crimp groove. As Skeeter said, it was as accurate as wadcutter! I used the Skeeter Load in PPC competition to good advantage.

My prayers for your medical team and your health.

Johnny--Sorry to learn of the health issues. A lot of us here carry that burden.

Lyman #358156 was one of the first moulds I bought when i started this addiction. It remains my high-velocity 'Go-to' design to this day.

I am short on powder so I stick to 38 special loads for now. My favorite is the 150 grain 358477 bullet, it works good in the 357 also. I'm loading it over 3.5 grains of Bullseye right now because that is what I have. It works great over HP38, Unique and 2400 also. 4 grains Bullseye may be just a tad better in the 38 Spec. but I'm being cheap on the powder until more shows up here.
I also shoot a 686.

Sorry you’re ailing. Could be worse. I could live with my Marlin M1894 and Ruger Blackhawk but would rather not./beagle
Well, for right now it's all I'm doing. Need to have a lung biopsy soon. I just don't seem to have the energy I had a few months ago.. it is what it is. Be 75 in July.. shoot everything close range as well.
100 yards max. I love my sw686 6 inch as well as my Rossi. It's all I need.. johnny
