New Scout Scope

My new scout scope , 2X - 7X Vortex variable, arrived today.

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/854643/vortex-optics-crossfire-ii-scout-rifle-scope-2-7x-32mm-matte

I've mounted it on my 8X57 mm Scout rifle.
The scope has super clear optics.
It offers a full field of view with my normal face position on the stock.
The reticle on this one is etched in the glass.
I'm anxious to get to the range with this one.

I think you can see why I wanted some nice optics on this rifle.
( These are 50 yard groups )

Thanks,

Should be able to move on out now and see what this puppy can do at 100 yds., 150 yds, etc.

That'll do nicely. Is that etched reticle in the "first focal plane"?

And why does this silly software want to correct my spelling of "reticle". I guess that's a word most millennials (hey! it knows that word!) don't use.

Yep I have about a dozen 92A bases in stock. Every time I spot one or two at a deal I get them and throw them in drawer. Have never had one come loose and never a scope problem.

I mostly use NC Star handgun scopes. People bad mouth them but I have about five and no problem so far. I guess what helps is I zero them and rarely move them thereafter. I have also used Bushnell, Weaver and I think another.

Do you have a copy of the Weaver base charts telling what diameters their bases are machined for?

If anyone needs the Weaver charts PM me with your email and I will send you all them. For instance you need a 60A base which will fit sporter barrels about .675 diameter.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find a FFP scope in that price range.
They do come in very handy when used with a mil/mil scope so you can use all your different power settings without doing all the math to make things work.

Nice scope Ben. I'm a big fan of Vortex optics. I think I have four in the safe.

Lol, new scopes rank right up there with new rifles, new moulds, etc.
Looks real nice on your rifle.

Some folks don't like the scout concept, but i've always felt like it has some advantages in the field. Lightening fast target aquisition is one, once you get used to the system.
