Dale53,

Thanks! I'm in my mid 60's and can still see the iron sights and use them. I can also "see" that ability will not last forever. My interest in handguns is .32 S&W Long, .38 Spl, .44 Spl and .45 ACP in bullet weights common to the caliber at MV's from 700 to 900 fps. At this point I have no interest in shooting my wrists loose.

Regards,

Tony

Ben,
That's a nice shooting barrel ( & I'm sure your loads weren't too shabby either)! Never knew much about that cartridge. Sure does look like it was made for good shooting.

A bucket of WW's, a brick of small pistol primers, and some Bullseye and you've got a LOT OF SHOOTING ahead of you. An very stingy $ $ round to reload for.

Just out of curiosity, what does slugging the bore give you for groove diameter? I have never owned a .32 Mag barrel for the Contender. I did own a 32-20 barrel that slugged 0.308". Some people called it the 30-20 wildcat. The accuracy was about the same as a 1931 Colt revolver with lead bullets. The accuracy improved when I went to 0.308" jacketed bullets. That was not what I was looking for, so I got rid of it.

I have not slugged the bore.

Everyone says that T/C built their barrels with a true .308 " bore for the 32 H & R mag.
The way this pistol is shooting right now, I could really care less what the bore dia. is.
It is a shooter.

>>>It is a shooter<<<

AMEN! To that! It's owner is doing all right, too.
I have several TC barrels, myself, and have been happy with them, also.

Greetings
Have Ultra Dots on the Dan Wesson Supermags and a 475 BFR. They do hold together. For the river bottoms I hunt they are fast as I can move and easy to plop onto the "hide" that needs perforating.
TC barrels Have a couple. They are certainly accurate. Used a 7 TCU years back as my "Standing Pistol". Certainly was one of the most accurate hand held firearms I have ever owned. Very good cast shooter. 45 Win Mag is the largest bore. 414 Supermag the most shot. That one has a nasty whiplash with 265-280 grainers and a case full of 1680.
