What alloy for target shooting

I'm a little surprised Rick hasn't chimed in on this one. He has shot more 200 yard targets with a revolver than most here.

In the infancy of IHMSA Silhouettes in started with a 10" contender in 357 Mag.
I was burning H110/296 with heavy loads.
Bullets were cast from #2 alloy with 50/50 lube.
158 gr bullets at max loads would not knock down the 54# rams at 200 yds every time.
I went to a 180 gr bullet and had better luck.
Still not 100% knock down on sketchy shots.
