What is your weather today?

Rare weather here this afternoon. Last few days warm, 60+, and wet air from the coast has been drifting over the mountains. This afternoon a cold front rushed over the top of us and we had hail. I know that sounds like nothing to most of you, but a rare thing here in the high desert. Most pea size and enough to make the ground white. Been ten years since I can remember see it here.

1.8" of rain, yesterday afternoon, in less than an hour. There is a marginal risk of severe weather today. We're getting our April rain, in May.

Big black squall line rolling though right now, turned the dawn back into night. In the lull between a rain squalls the birds came out to feed and I was able to fill the jelly feeder as an Oriole sat overhead singing and supervising. Got the sunflower seed on the ground and a male Cardinal was chipping at me from the Spruce tree. I saw all the suet was gone but this big dark line of clouds was hurrying our way and suddenly the birds were gone.

Weather Radio went off at 4:30 AM with a severe T-storm warning. :sigh: Received 8/10" in about an hour. Hasn't dried out from the last storm. Chiggers are ferocious, as a result. Both of my legs are bit up and I haven't been off the gravel, around the house.

A little early for our chiggers yet, but they can get nasty. Never had them in NE Wisconsin where I grew up. Moved down to SW Wisconsin and they were a surprise, an unpleasant surprise. On the other hand we have almost no mosquitoes and black flies here.
That squall line went through and the birds came back out.

Never got chigger or tick bitten, in the lower peninsula of Michigan. Rude awakening, here in Arkansas. Mosquitos aren't a big issue here, as long as your not outside at dawn and dusk.

"OK, OK, I'm going as fast as I don't want to go!"
After the crazy severe thunderstorms last night, which seemed to stay north west of OKC, it is a beautiful day today!
