I still can't fathom how Ideal/Lyman (box says Ideal/Lyman, mould says Lyman) cut the mould with the base band so undersize, but the other two bands not. Or put another way, how can the base band of a cherry wear approximately .002" while the other two other bands essentially don't wear. And another thing, seems Ideal/Lyman obviously knew the cherry was worn, but used it anyway and labeled both the mould and box accordingly.

Someone sharpened the cherry where they thought it needed it.

Went on that ice fishing recon and swung by and picked up a 19 year old true outdoorsman. The downside of that is trying to prove that the 67 year old can hike through the snow right along with a 19 year old stud. I feel like I've been dragged through a knot hole. Our first spot involved at least a half mile trudge through at least a foot of snow, and not catching hardly anything. I did get a large mouth bass which qualifies as what I call the "skunk fish."

Then we hiked back up though the tunnel under the rail road tracks and under the State highway, where not only can you not stand up, but you actually have to duck down under a concrete beam that is no more than 3 feet above the deck, and....it's all up hill coming back once you're off the ice.

We made a two mile move by truck and hiked out on another Mississippi back water. But that only involved maybe a 250 yard hike one way. Fishing was sssslloooooowwww. This is the thickest ice I've fished in years, but there is a bit less than 3 ft. of water under said ice. I managed to bring home 3 nice yellow perch. I did catch a beautiful pumpkinseed, and though it was certainly big enough to eat, it was too pretty to kill.

When I got home just before 7 pm there were six deer and chubiferous raccoon under the bird feeder, that fled as I pull into the driveway. Cleaned the perch, walked the guts out to the field and had a slice of rabbit pot pie for supper. Having Woodford Reserve for dessert. All is good now with 4 vitamin I and and two fingers of bourbon.

My buddy received the day's report and postponed his ice trip to next week when we should be able to use the hover craft.

My boys went ice fishing up on the St Lawrence last weekend. Godry got his first Walleye, about 6 lbs I think they said. Good eating!

At lunch time I’ll sometimes do a search on ammoseek for powder. In the time it took me to type the message in quotes, they were sold out when I refreshed the screen.

“Midsouth has 1# Varget in stock. If any of you are looking.”

It seems like there is supply. It just gets bought up in minutes when it becomes available.

Out running today.
Gave up and took my taxes to an accountant. Borowed the money to pay him from my son.
Cost me $225 but they are done. I will have the money back in my son's savings in a couple weeks since the bills are already paid up.
He found me an extra $300 I would have missed. So I made out ahead, having him do it anyway.
Now just home watching the tube, eating some build your own fajitas, We picked up at a family owned mexican restaurant up by Canton.
Washing it all down with a Hamm's.
Life is good!

Yesterday afternoon my wife and I were able to signup for Chinese flu vaccinations, me tomorrow and her Thursday. What a fiasco! Enter name, rank and serial number, pick a time, press enter. Oh, no, that's too simple. A process that should have taken no more than two-minutes took over half-an-hour. Some IT person needs to be flown to a deserted desert island and left there alone to live off the land.

I’m not sure that would be a bad thing. I might enjoy that life style, as long as I got to take a mask, fins, speargun, good knife, and a surfboard. Sign me up!!!

Live off the land. No mention of the sea. (wink, wink)

I got my second dose last Wednesday. The logistics of getting vaccines, those who can administer them, and those who need them together at the same place and time seems to be beyond the comprehension of those in charge of setting things up. Lets hope they learn quickly as more and more vaccine becomes available.

Went to work and promptly shucked a filling. Got an appointment for this afternoon with my dentist (who is I'll wager one of the best on the planet and a fine gentleman to boot) and got it cleaned up and refilled on the way home without any anesthetic required. After earnings and expenses, losses and gains, today was a break-even event.

the problem is it's a government form your filling out.
it's a yes/no question, but with 6 different scenarios thrown in just so you get it wrong.

well I got the SIL's 1300 put together and working slick today, after tearing the trigger apart and replacing the slide release, a little judicial filing and fitting on a few spots has it pretty slicked up, and operating at 100%.
once I got it tore down I could see what he had done and why it was broke.
who'd think a 130lb. person could generate enough force to break 3 different parts, and jerk a totally locked gun open?
I sure didn't.
now that I got the other two done I can tear mine down and get it back to how it's supposed to be.
then I can do a recoil pad on the 1200, and start looking for a new stock for the little 20ga O/U.

Went to a terrible soccer game, ref got his badge from cracker jacks box. Had to put several minutes back on the clock. Let the entire team run off field without a signal for subs, then re enter and still play. 90% bad calls. By the end of game the stands were booing him. Second game I've seen the same ref eject fan due to remarks about ref's ability. Candidate for desert island too. Friend got Clovid shot after filling out a long questionnaire.

2020 rules, 300$ for cash charitable donations, no questions asked. Some saying to hold off filing until covid 'rescue' bill is passed, depending on GROSS income.
Kid sent vid of the acreage she just closed on. Few problems to fix but now a closer place to get hogs.
