1885 High Wall 38-55

Well I been trying to get a hold of a friend, long range, might go two years between see each other. Used to do gun shows with a mutual friend, Swede, who has since died, about in 98. Anyway Swede was the common bond. But Wally and I bump into each other from time to time.
Well Swede bought my Winchester collection in 2 different buys. I collected lever takedown and 1885 High & Low Wall rifles. Swede concentrated on 86 and 92 deluxe and SRC rifles. Wally collected pre 64 model 70's. Wally finally saw the light and bought most of Swede's collection before he died, which included most of my old collection. Some really fine rifles, beautiful pieces. Wally got rid of most of those nasty old model 70's.
Well I can't afford collecting those kind of rifles anymore, besides I like to shoot them. Well I've known Wally had one High Wall I might be able to afford. (He has one other 38-55 in a 94 deluxe takedown I used to own, can't afford that one for sure, a 98% gun.) Back to the High Wall, It happens to be a 38-55 a caliber also. It's a 2nd year production, 4 digit serial number. It's a number 2 barrel ordered in round at 28", with a shotgun butt. The early guns were octagon frame and used the same trigger which was drilled for the adjustment screw for a signal set trigger, which was used for the standard trigger group. It's a brown gun, has not been altered and has a letter from Cody. Will be getting together with Wally next week to finalize the purchase.
Pretty excited about this one, especially since getting 3 Moulds for the 38-55 of Pauls through Brad. I have held off sending a 94 to JES for converting for this reason as well. Nice old rifle, needs to be I my safe.

In the safe? Heck no, it needs to be sitting in some bags on the bench in that new condo you just built!
