700 x for cast bullets

Is 700x a good choice for 243 cast bullets? Right now I'm using red/blue dot, unique,4227,and 2400. With large pistol primers as well. Can't find any large rifle primers. They seem to work good with the light loads. Thanks

nope,, the sweet raisins offset the tang too much... the frosted flakes don't have as much sugar as they used to so it's more balanced.

Just a quick look at a lyman cast manual from the 70s shows 700X data for three different cast bullets in the .243. Not sure what bullet weight you're using. Starting data for 85, 95 and 100 grain bullets are 8.5, 7.5 and 7 grains respectively.

Works very well for mid power .44 mag loads. I would not hesitate to try it in standard handgun loads. It is very clean burning. Never tried it in rifles.

Seems like all the traditional flake type shotgun powders work well in reduce rifle cast loads, 700X, Red Dot, Green Dot, Unique, etc. I have only tried Blue Dot in .30-06 and
.308, and not very much but it showed promise and I will eventually get back to woeking with it.
