Awhile back Mrs.Thumbcocker went with me to the local gun shop. She spied a Ruger #1 RSI in 7x57. She pointed it out to me knowing that #1 Rugers make me weak in the knees. While I was dithering, she asked to look at it. She shouldered it and said "I want this" to the clerk. I congratulated her on her hard nosed negotiating. The rifle had a positively horrible trigger, the worst I had ever seen on a #1 and the recoil pad was a brick. A replacement sear got the trigger down to 2.5 pounds and a deceleration pad took the meaness out of the recoil. Load testing started with the RCBS 145 Sillouett bullet. Research showed others had good luck with IMR 3031so i started there. Here are the results.
