A minor rant

I’ve advanced as far a a turret press. I admit it’s a LEE Classic, but there’s 2 reasons not to go progressive.

First there’s the skin flint thing. I am a tight wad that’s for sure, but that stems from being on a fixed income, and Karyn always preaching common sense. New turrets are $10 and at that I can afford multiple calibers setup permanently. I can’t afford $50 to $85 for additional turrets. I can also kick out 140 to 150 rounds per hour. Wish I had enough time to shoot that much. My brother has a Dillon 550 and loves it. I know others that shoot in matches and for that it would make sense. I’m not that social.

The second reason is I just don’t like progressives in reloading or politics. I’m a blue steel and wood kind of dinosaur.

A long time ago Dillon occasionally sold non-Dillon items at very good prices. Some interesting articles in the catalog as well.

Geezer definitely should be capitalized!

My parents depression era born thriftiness did rub off on me. Hard for me to throw away a perfectly good tin can. I also use two spaces after a period that ends a sentence.

I don't know at what age geezerhood commences, so I've been proclaiming for many years that I'm a pre-geezer. However, and for sure, any person older than I am is a geezer or geezerette.

I still say tin can and tin foil.

Yep, was taught to hit the space bar twice after a sentence ends, but the forum's software defaults the space to one. Also was taught to write/type U. S. A., for example, not USA. I think high-brow English professors and lazy newspaper editors mandated that change. Or, maybe, it was the federal Department of Ill-Education. Remember, too, to-day.

Hmmm . . . could be I am a Geezer.

Oh, well and whatever. Space, space.

I never really thought about being aDillon fan or not, but I havea650 ,550 and3 square deals and use them all, I also have the RCBS 5 other single stage presses, from the early 60,s. Have found that their service is the same as the other company that I have. The only real surprise that Had was when Ifigured out that Could load sub quarter inch moa ammo for my LBC varmint rifle. the great thing about the Dillons ( for me anyway) was that Could make a lot of ammo quickly. I used to shoot 25,000 t0 30,000 annually, so time was very important. Now except for the 556 nd the 10mm,s I use 1 of the single stage presses.

In October I found out I had cancer, melanoma in situ, so I looked it up on the internet. "A disease of the elderly." That made me feel old.
