When my uncle died back in 1999 my Aunt sold off all of his guns and casting/reloading stuff. I was able to buy all of the casting/reloading stuff along with an old Ruger M77 tang safety .22-250.
His son, my cousin wanted the matching rifle in .257 Roberts.
Fast forward about 14 years. My cousin dies from kidney failure (Born with this)
I ended up buying this twin to my .22-250 from my Aunt. It was made in 1982-83 and wears an old Redfield 3x9 Tracker scope.
I'm scrubbing all of the copper out of it now. I have a new box of Nosler brass, a bot of 100gr Speer Hot Core bullets, and a slue of powder that should work well with this caliber.
It's not a rifle I have shot much or intend to shoot much. It will not leave me until my death though. Same with my uncles reloading bench and presses. A lot of sentimental value.
I'll stick with the Saterlee ladder test to pick a load. This just plain works...….
