Anyone use the new purple Universal yet?

Finally ran through all my older Universal and cracked an 8-pounder purchased a year or two ago, noticed immediately that the stuff wasn't the familiar dusty sage green, it's actually a lavender, almost purple. Anyone use this stuff yet and if so, have you found any difference in the way it shoots?

Nope ...still working on my last of three 8#ers
I am surprised that I haven't heard anyone mention the change until now...hope the color us the only change made to it...it is my go to powder for its burn rate...

I know where there is a new 1#er for sale..I might pick it up just to test...

PS...first zombie bullets and now purple powder...boy am I getting old...

Quick check on the I net says it doesn't meter quite as well and drops heavier.....Hodgdon says data is the same...now made in Canada.....yuck..

I like Universal in a couple shotgun loadings. I'd heard the same about weights in a shotgun forum. I just used the last of mine in January. My Berreta 3901 likes 22.5 grs with the Lee 7/8 oz slug. Hope it hasn't changed too much.

Not a shotgunner at all really. I actually use very little Unique with cast. I tend to use Red Dot for pistol or 2400 for rifle.
I do worry that when powders change source that they will not really be the same. Takes more than a theoretical sameness in burnrate.

$199??!!! Glad I bought a bunch more when I did.

I remember it was one of "Gear's Rules" that: Hodgdon will discontinue the only powder that ever shot well in your favorite gun, looks like they strike again, sorta.

So I need to work this up again for about six different pet loads of mine before continuing the .45 ACP load-a-thon. Sheit. Thanks for the input.

I was in Bass Pro about two weeks ago and RX-7 was $41/lb, I laughed and walked out.

ASBB shake'n'bake works wonders, as well as picking each bullet out and placing on its base with pliers to cook. It's going to be raining for the next couple of days, so probably won't get to study this powder much via chronograph and Quickload.

I was really, really trying not to get "Barney Powder" stuck in my head, but it's too late now....

We run dinosaur juice in our cars and trucks. FWIW.

What do these "Enduron" powders have to offer, apart from increased tariffs and marketing hype? I'm still pissed about SR-4756 getting the axe last year.
