Awaiting new Mold!

Got a notification from friend that Arsenal had some molds this AM. Looking at the "stock" I discovered a mold I have been wanting for nearly 20 years. Most of those I was leasurely looking/wanting. If I had put my mind to that I would have owned it long ago. ;);)

Anyhow, I saw IN STOCK a 4 cav 403-200WFN slick side. (For my 10mm's) I have many many molds. I PC 98% of everything I cast. I have done so for most of the last five years. I have never owned a slick side mold.:p:p

I ordered it this AM. Usually Tom is pretty quick. Esp when in stock. But it will get here when it does.

Mean time Ill be anxiously awaiting its arrival. I believe its my 5/6 Arsenal. Always pleased with them! ♥️

I have also been pleased with my Arsenal moulds.
I recently purchased my first slick sided mould, the Arsenal 225-45. Results so far have not been too impressive, around 2 MOA in my .222 rem. But I’m working on it.
Good luck with yours!

Nice! I will be interested to see the bullets. If I didn't already have four different 200+ gr. moulds for my 10mm's I would have one of those. I am a big fan of slick sided bullets, they cast so nice.

CW thanks for posting the pic. of the screen shot. I never knew that will custom cut the dia. for you. My Fun Fund just got smaller again.

Yes Jared is very accommodating. He’s cutting 4 molds for me now, 2 to his as drawn spec’s and 2 that I’ve asked to be brought out a few thousandths for my 2- 45 cal rifles. Haven’t ventured into the slick sides yet, so I will be waiting for a report from CW.
But if the molds aren’t in stock, the wait is 5-6 weeks. I’m waiting. But Jared has good prices and makes a beautiful mold.

Maybe we can do some swapping once I get it. I am always anxious to try different bullets. As cast if you prefer or PC and size your choice.

I THINK that he may even take a stock mould and open it up a bit if you asked for something bigger than listed. I don't know this for certain, but the two I've gotten from him came exactly as I asked and it sure didn't take long. The last one was during the early covid panic and he was backed up, but he made good on the delivery he guessed at.

I agree with all others who have been happy with his work. I will look to Arsenal FIRST for any future mould need or desire.

he can easily open them.
all he has to do is punch a few numbers into the computer and the CNC machine just makes larger oscillations.
he doesn't even have to change the 'cherry' to do it.

I wonder what a 454421 would weigh ..... You'd only be able to use it in a Ruger or 45 AR but it would be interesting .

As far as I know it's not a thing . (454421) I have one that has been opened, through a chain of unfortunate but quality events , to .448 . It shoots well paper patched in 460 and 45 Colts rifles but I didn't stretch it out or run it hot . Maybe in the spring . Its also a good fit in the Dragoon but I haven't shot it as such .
