didn't Lebanon harbor blow up from Ammonium Nitrate spontaneily go boom, no forget that it burned for a while then boob
Yes, it was uncoated ammonium nitrate that had sat for years in the warehouse in the harbor. Same principle, only 100 times more dangerous than smokeless. Mining use ANFO (ammonium nitrate fuel oil) as a cheap earth moving explosive.

It also blew up Texas City, Texas.

The 1947 Texas City disaster was an industrial accident that occurred on April 16, 1947, in the port of Texas City, Texas, United States, located in Galveston Bay. It was the deadliest industrial accident in U.S. history and one of history's largest non-nuclear explosions.

The explosion was triggered by a mid-morning fire on board the French-registered vessel SS Grandcamp (docked at port), which detonated her cargo of about 2,300 tons (about 2,100 metric tons) of ammonium nitrate.[1] This started a chain reaction of fires and explosions aboard other ships and in nearby oil-storage facilities, ultimately killing at least 581 people, including all but one member of Texas City's volunteer fire department.[2]: 100

Yup a different fire to begin with. Same for the Texas city explosion. Interesting that the arabs in charge had all kinds of junk in the warehouse next door, where the fire started. Most of our 8/55 and 5/38 were WWII made, missiles were from 50s. Pulled the warhead from many, none appeared degraded. They went whoosh/boom when needed. Heck, we had meat from 42. Now flour and coal dust - nasty stuff.
