Seems that most of the rifles that I'm interested in at a gun show always have dirty bores. Seems that many sellers will bring a rifle to the show that is intentionally left dirty to hide bore problems.
I simply refuse to buy a rifle that I cannot examine the bore in !
Carrying a metal cleaning rod all through the show isn't practical.
I'm using a nice pull thru system ( the idea is well over 100 years old, BTW ) now and have it all in a short piece of 3/4 " PVC.
Room inside for the pull thru & 5 patches appropriate for .270 - 45 cal. Works with 32" inch barrels and shorter. Nothing to scratch the interior of the bore.
Easy to drop in your back pocket once you enter the gun show.
Also nice to take with you on a hunting trip. The red end has been glued on with PVC cement. The other end is a tight friction fit.
I'm happy with the finished product.
